I bled during the entire first trimester with both of my pregnancies. It usually started around week 5 and would go on throughout the first trimester. With my first pregnancy it was so heavy at times I would have called it a light menstrual flow. I needed to wear a pad and everything. For me it ended up coming from my cervix, my cervix gets very "vascularized" when I am pregnant and it bleeds at the slightest thing. Spotting in early pregnancy can be normal, however, I would let your provider know that it is happening. Also, if you are RH- they may want to give you your rhogam shot just incase. I have had to get one with each pregnancy.

This is my second pregnancy and I've out-and-out bled with both. Generally I bleed for about 8 days around the time I'd normally get my period. My doctor told me it's called "breakthrough bleeding" and nobody's really sure why it happens. So far for me this pregnancy is progressing normally (and as my son's a happy healthy 1 year old he obviously turned out fine too). That being said, absolutely call your doctor or midwife and let them know. They may want to run tests, but if they tell you not to worry then try not to stress. If you start to get cramping or the spotting gets heavy or bright red then head over to a hospital.

Hi Hun bleeding can be very normal in early pregnancy I'd say rest as much as possible with your feet up and would consult your midwife asap just to be on the safe side and log down colour and how much good luck x
