Q: Is it normal to have a hard stomach all day at 38 weeks pregnant??

Recently my stomach started getting more hard, which soon became really uncomfortable to where it was hard for me to walk, lay down, sit on a exercise ball, be on all fours. Even drinking water didn't help but about 15-20 mins later it relax. What could it mean? Am I getting close to labor?

During pregnancy, it is quite common for women to experience a lot of physical and mental changes. All pregnant women will get to witness a growing and protruding stomach. In the second trimester of your pregnancy, the uterus has already reached half way and will be stuck between your pelvic bone and belly button. There are more chances of the uterus expanding in size and would eventually start to press against the walls of the stomach and thereby, give you a hard feeling. With each passing day, the hardness of the stomach becomes quite normal. This condition occurs for most pregnant women. There is nothing to worry about as pregnant woman will have a hard belly during pregnancy. Don't feel surprised if you get a hard feeling around your belly as this is due to the growing uterus. For some, this condition can be as early as after the completion of 12 weeks of pregnancy. Yet this hard belly during pregnancy depends on the body type of the person.

Good afternoon ladies,
As i see that you are almost towards the end of your pregnancy, thsi might be indicative of several things. I am sure that you are still visitng and staying in regular contact with your gynaecologist now, because this is a very crucial time, and anything can be a symotim for either labor or another pregnancy related complications. As far as the stiffness of your stomach is concerned, this can also indicate a few things else than your labor. This can also mean that you might be having acid in your stomach. And it can also be indicating that the baby within your womb is alkigned in a very uncomfortable position. I know it might be a difficult situation for you, but this is a very risky situation to stress in. You are almost at the end of your ptegnacy, and harming your child by over thinking would be tge worst that you can do give to him. Keep in touch with your gynaecologist and do some activities throughout the day. Listen to meditational music is best suggrsted

Any luck with this yet? It seems that my stomach would be very hard for hours at a time around 38 weeks or so for me. However, I did not go into labor on my own. I'm sure you are seeing your Dr regularly by now, have they given any advice? Good luck and congratulations, you're almost there!!!
