Q: 8 weeks pregnant but no heartbeat?

I'm assumed to be about 8 weeks pregnant and I went in today for my first ultrasound. The nurse didn't see a heartbeat and only saw a yolk sac. We are hoping that I'm not as far along as expected and that everything is okay. I have to go back one week from today for a second ultrasound to see if anythings changed. This will be my second baby and I'm terrified of something being wrong. Has anyone else experienced anything similar to this?

But in your case, not wanting to jump to conclusions. I would suggest you calculate the correct date of your pregnancy, again. Chances are that you might have been mistaken by a wrong date. Another method of confirming the same can be by getting the HCG test done. HCG levels are highest during the 2nd and third month. And, if you are still under 4 weeks of pregnancy, you are very much likely to have a low HCG count. I would also suggest you to stop worrying as it can worsen the condition. The baby needs to breathe and feel safe. If you stay positive, you will avoid any damage to your body and mind, simultaneously protecting your baby.

Just wondering what happened with this? I am in a similar situation, supposed to be 7 weeks 6 days and they found a gestational sac and yolk sac but no fetal pole. I am terrified and go back in 1 week for a follow up ultrasound. I am praying everything went will with you!

Wishing you all a good day,
Congratulations dear. I will pray for your safe and sound pregnancy. How good is it to see a child growing within you? Well, only if you could really see it growing from a ball of one cell to developing a heartbeat followed by small limbs and tiny hair. It is believed that the child can see and hear almost every sound, and, feel every emotion his mother is feeling. How many of the moms here know about the procedure of a baby growing within the womb? Probably not a lot, right? Well, if we talk about the trend of a growth in baby, he grows every day. Every day a new organ or tissue is getting developed within the body of the fetus, and pretty obviously, the heart is the first of all the crucial organs in the body to grow. In an average child, the heart beat grows by the latest of 4 weeks to 6 week of age. Any later can be indicative of a lot of horrifying reasons. Either he is suffering from a congenital heart disease or the oxygen supply wasn't sufficient.

I hope the best for you and that the dates were wrong, but if you were to be 8 weeks you should definitely see a heartbeat and even an obvious fetal pole. I unfortunately suffered a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks. There was no heartbeat but I could see the little peanut that measured 8 weeks. Currently pregnant with my rainbow baby 32 weeks. Hang in there and stay positive.

I'm sorry for the stress of this- not easy to handle. If you are 8 wks, heartbeat should be very obvious- it usually appears at 6 wks. Babies that are 8 wks have limb buds and heartbeat is easily visualized. Hopefully you are just earlier in the pregnancy, but if you are sure of your dates then it could be a missed miscarriage. So sorry, I've been there and it is terrible.

Hey, are you sure about this? Aren't you just kidding? I am sorry I asked like this. It's just hard for me to believe. I don't know what to say. I still can't believe that it's happening. I must advise you to go to the doctor. Ask him to do every test he could more. Simply, Just don't let it happen. I know everything happens for a reason and we really don't do anything about it. It's going to be good dear. May your child would be healthy and good. My prayers are with you.
