Hello everyone.
Congratulations, I know it can be difficult, and concerning to get your baby have all the nourishment, and appropriate feed. It is a disheatening situation, but if i were you, unless your doctor is concerned i would not worry about it. I started my last pregnancy at 186 pounds. Lost 15 pounds in the first 15 weeks. I started gaining weight at 18 weeks, and ended up at 205 pounds. Everyone gains differently. Your doctor would know best. So it is better to eat healthy, and as much as you want to. You don't have to deliberately get fat. Not all the babies grow at same rate!

By 16 weeks, I had gained 6 pounds, but then continued to steadily gain. I am now 33 weeks and have gained 23 pounds. Have you used the weight gain tool on this site? It is important to adjust your weight gain based on your starting BMI. I agree with blondeone12's advice - if your doc isn't worried, I wouldn't be. We all gain weight differently. Baby will take their calories from any fat stores as needed. I guess just make sure you are eating healthily and that you have plenty of protein and fresh veg in your diet. Omega 3 and folic acid are important building blocks for baby. x
