Q: Dated different?

My last period was 6-6 but it was not a normal one. It lasted 12 days. I got my BFP a few weeks later. From that date I sould be roughly 7 weeks. I started cramping and began spotting light pink and brown blood last night so I went to the ED. There I had a beta HCG and ultrasound as well as a urine screen. When all the results came back the doctor said everything looks great for a 4-5 week pregnancy. My HCG was 1097 and he said he saw a gestational sac which is perfectly fine. I followed up with my OB who checked and said my cervix is closed and I have no active bleeding. She felt for my uterus and said it is not near where a 7 week uterus should be. She's not to concerned and said to follow up in one week for my levels. My question is; is it possible to be off by that much? Could I have had a miscarriage and not known it with my cervix still closed?

Hello everyone,
I understand your concern dear. You should stop worrying about the first place. It can make the situation even worse. If you feel your gynecologist is not offering you with the right advice and service, kindly change it. You must have a second opinion, always. Never rely on just one advice and stay blindfolded forever. I would suggest you to take some rest and then think about visiting another doctor.

I hate dating based on LMP because mine are not the normal. I tend to range between 33-34 days and ovulate later too (around 20 days in). So my LMP dates are always a week or two ahead of what my ultrasounds show. it's very possible that's what happened to you too. It really depends on when you ovulated, not when you last got your period. So if you had an extra long period, you may have ovulated later than you normally do. Granted, 2-3 weeks is a long spread, but if you ovulated late, and had a later implantation, then it's not impossible. Keep tracking your blood levels, those will be able to tell you whether there's been a miscarriage or not and whether your pregnancy is progressing like it should or not. Good luck!
