Q: Sex question for any IVF moms out there.

We had our frozen embryo transfer on November 2nd and I am now 8 weeks and 4 days. We've had nothing but positive news at all of our ultrasounds and blood tests but my clinic never released us for intercourse. They had originally said that it was okay after we saw the baby's heartbeat for the first time but we were still told to wait after that. I had my weekly ultrasound appointment yesterday and I finally asked if it was okay and they were very reluctant but after talking to the doctor she said it was okay as long as I didn't have bleeding afterwards. After doing some research I'm finding so many different answers. Some doctors say you can immediately after transfer, some say you have to wait until 12 weeks. There just doesn't seem to be a consensus among anyone. I know I got the okay from my doctor but their hesitancy makes me nervous. I'm tired of living like roommates with my husband, but it's not worth jeopardizing our baby. I appreciate any feedback or advice you can give.

It's terrible on here sometimes. The lack of response can get frustrating! Honestly, I Think You'd Have Better Luck on ctp with mothers that have previously had ivf and are back? Also , for some reason a lot of people still follow over the compared to here! Hope you get an answer, I know that would be frustrating!

Hey. If you are sexually active, you can generally continue your intimate relationships without restrictions. A healthy sexual life is good for your relationship and can reduce stress. However, some IVF clinics may impose restrictions on sexual intercourse during embryo transfer, or if you are pregnant and are experiencing bleeding. The medical provider in the clinic will be the person who will make the final recommendation about the sexual intercourse. If you are considering a surrogate motherhood, you should use a reliable method of birth control, since pregnancy already definitely excludes you from consideration! I think that everything will be fine. Give each other joy and love.
