Hi everyone,

I am sorry I have ben MIA.. really from the whole website. When I come home at night, I am so tired that I can't even pick up my laptop..ha...

I hope it is still OK if I join in!

So it looks like everyone is split 50/50.

Allie, are you finding out soon?

So, I am actually not going to find out. I had an u/s last week but the baby was in the worst position possible, so even if I wanted to find out the sex, I wouldn't have been able to. I am going back thursday - but I am still not going to find out.. it will have to be a surprise!

So everyone is felling kicks. I feel behind. I only felt my baby once, yesterday. it felt like he/she shifted position. I hope it picks up soon!!!!!! I want to feel my baby!!!

does anyone else feel like April is light years away?

I feel so out of the loop! I'm visiting my parents today so I figured I'd use their laptop to get caught up on my fave group of pregnant women 8)

JL- Congrats on team blue! And you were right, that must be a nice feeling, I was 100% wrong! I'm registering next Sunday, I can't wait! I know what you mean by overwhelming though, it's a lot to plan &research. Thinking of any names yet?

Allison- AHHH the suspense is killing me! I hope you are hanging in there and *cherishing* your excitement! If I had to guess I'd say...GIRL! But I'm usually wrong so who knows! How are your migraines? Are you still at risk for the baby having spina bifida? I'm praying that's not the case for you and your babe, but a woman in my community gave birth to a little girl two weeks ago who had spina bifida. Shortly after birth they performed surgery on her and she is doing extremely well and is expected to live a 100% normal life. I'm hoping that brings you a little peace of mind .

Bens- Welcome back! I hear you on being to tired to do anything. Last night we went to bed at 7:00 pm! I think saving the gender surprise until birth would be so much fun, I know that I am just too impatient of a woman to wait. Congrats on the little kick! They are wonderful, such an amazing reassurance. Sometimes I feel like time is crawling by, sometimes it feels like it's zooming. Yesterday I was looking at a pregnancy app on my phone and realized that as of January 1st I'll be in the 3rd trimester, OMG! It's gone by so fast.

Kawai- Sorry he's keeping you up! Every morning (at 3 am also) Miss Georgia is doing aerobics on my bladder and that wakes me up, and then she continues to jump around even when I get back into bed. Fortunately for me I'm a pretty hard sleeper and fall right back asleep after a few minutes. At least nights with a newborn won't be a big stretch for you!!!

ImACamp- Nesting mode is kicking in with you also I see! We have her bedding, carseat, stroller, and tons of clothes sitting in her closet and everytime I open the closet doors I get a huge rush of impatience and excitement.

I can't look back any farther from this screen so if I missed you, I'm sorry!!!

Still no laptop, my husband was laid off on Friday so I'm not sure if we'll be replacing it any time soon 8/ I knew this was coming, but now that it has actually happened it's such a huge stress. He doesn't want to go back to work there and wants to find a new job soon, which is great and I completely agree, but if we switch insurance now (our current insurance will cover us until June) my pregnancy will be deemed a pre-existing condition and her birth and the rest of my OB visits will not be covered under new insurance. We have enough money saved to get us through 2-3 months of him being unemployed (so think February-ish) but after that, things will be up in the air. My head is swimming.

Now that THAT mess is off my chest I can have a few happy thoughts My doctor is no longer concerned with my blood pressure, she is putting me back on appts every 4 weeks. At my next appt on the 29th I have to do the 1 hour glucose tolerance test. On January 1st I start trimester 3, I can't believe how quickly this has gone by, makes me very excited, anxious, and a little sad. I like having her all to myself, I don't know if I'll like to share her

I'm so glad I could get caught up on you all and check in. I read the posts every day on my phone but it's too hard to type everything I'd like to. So just know I'm here, in spirit if not in posts!

Bens: Yay for kick!! You should probably eat blueberry pancakes everyday then...the baby clearly was giving you a signal!

JK: Sorry about your DH being laid off and the stress of the insurance. Keep optimistic and hopefully everything will work out okay! I'm glad they are less concerned about your BP now! Yay :) I also can't believe how fast your pregnancy is going! I don't hit 3rd trimester tilll like the end of January, but January 1 seems so close! i'm trying to cherish the excitement for finding out the gender, but at the same time I just want to know!!! 10 days from today! We won't know till the ultrasound about the spina bifida (hopefully no!) but I am very happy to hear about your friends story, because that is very comforting to hear.

AFM: Got the crib and changing table and glider chair today!!! The crib and changing table are absolutely gorgeous, my cousins decided no more kids so they gave these to us. I'm in love with them. Beautiful wooden sleigh crib, and the changing table matches. My parents gave the chair to us early as our "shower" gift because my mom wants me to be able to relax in the baby room :) And by the way, the baby kicked a ton after I tried out the glider. We got a few more small items too which is nice :) We already have a swing, a bouncer, and a bassinet from my sister-in-law too. Now we also have two baby bjorns, and a snugli backpack! And lots of little puzzles and toys. My aunt gave me the bedding from her son's crib 36 years ago, cause it's all winnie the pooh. Since it doesn't fit our crib, I'm going to make curtains and a wall decoration out of the stuff! I also think we are going to bypass a bureau for the room since we have such a large closet and just shelve the closet instead. The changing table also has several shelves on it too which I can put canvas baskets to hold items. Anyways, I got super excited today and it was a nice change from worrying a lot lately.

Hey Bens, Welcome back. I'm glad you got to feel the baby. My little man is moving all over the place. I love the feeling.

JK, wow wee I think I would be a but stressed about the insurance as well but the thought you have the money saved is what would have saved me. My husband is layed off right now and we always save for these times as well. I'm thinking of you and sending job vibes to you guys.

Allie, you are so lucky. My crib is on order right now, Mike's parents decided they wanted to buy their first grand baby the crib. Fine by me. As for names so far I have Oscar, Duncan and Lochlan. I am having some troubles coming up with names though.

AFM, I'm still on cloud nice and very excited. I am going to order the bedding tonight and get that out of the way and then we can pick paint colors for the walls. I'm in such a happy state right now and the worries have gone away. The issue now is my placenta is low and over my cervix but the doctor said not to worry about it because it is early and it almost always corrects itself. Worst case scenario I have to have a c-section. Which in my opinion is not bad because I will still have my baby.

I'm sorry I left someone out but gotta fly out the door. Have a great night everyone!

well, I took a sick day today. I kind of felt guilty about it because I am trying to save all my sick days for maternity leave, but I have a bad sinus infection. I just needed to sleep.

So I am watching a baby story and drinking tea... so far an enjoyable day, if only I could breathe.

@bens10... me too. My sinuses are complete crap at the moment and I'm getting quite the headache from it. It's safe to say I'm a Couch potato today. I did go see me doc this morning to rule out strep. It's negative, thank goodness. My kids had it over the weekend but I'm usually good at being a germophob when the kiddos are sick. Just having fun watching my belly taking on a life of it's own at the moment.

Hey Guys, Have you tried sleeping with a steamer? I sleep with a steamer with little peppermint extract in it. It helps a lot plus when I was really nauseous the peppermint is what got me through. I hope you guys are feeling better soon!

One owl baby blanket down. Now on to iron on some owls to the swaddlers. If I can find some cute owl iron ons for the onesies that would make my week. I wanted owl baby stuff but it's really hard to find so I have to settle with being crafty. I can get some stuff from etsy but their prices are outrages for something that I can do on my own. I'm also looking for cheese cloth in bulk to make some summer swaddlers. I still haven't started on the summer baby cocoon that I've been plotting on or the owl quilt bedding. It's safe to say that I'm getting to that ADD point. My boss has been asking me if she can send some work to me at home with extra $ since I'm on rest. Poor thing has been running her office without me and on the verge of tears when she came to visit. She refused to hire another person for the job. Oh well... I can do it from my bed so why not. I might throw the quilt bedding project at my mum though. Other than that... I'm just bored kind of wished my boss would come and visit me again with those wicked scones she brought me last night.

Bens, I have no idea. I think so. Sorry

Kaw, I love the owls too. I found some cute fabric that had owls at Franks.

@JL... yup got some fabrics. It's just bumming me out that owl baby stuff used to be everywhere and now they're obselete. I don't have anything against monkeys. I just like birds more than I like monkeys. I'll probably go for frog and turtle themes to go with the owl if I can't find any more owl stuff. DH is helping to lol I think he wants a real owl though or a hawk.

hey girls,

Kaw: Love the owl theme! Owl's were huge last year! And I definitely noticed a drop in owls this year. I'm also seeing giraffes everywhere! Try ebay if you haven't already. I'm also using an old bedding set to make my curtains and wall decorations because they fit my old school winnie the pooh decoration perfectly. Good luck! Can't wait to see pictures of what the owl theme turns out like!

AFM: I feel so out of it lately. i'm not even hungry anymore and can't get my weight up after I lost the lb...not sure what is causing it. Been a lot more emotional lately too. Let's hope this changes soon!

Today... still bored. I asked my mum for some black forrest cup cake and she said no, black forrest isn't black forrest without the rum so I'm pouting and settling for some pound cake with my hot tea. Mum did say she will make me some strawberry short cake with chocolate covered strawberries on top. I can't complain, but still pouting. My hips are in pain (dull, achy, annoying), the baby feels low thinking about getting those belly and back support. I have had a lot of wear and tears so I'm hoping the support will help alleviate the presure on my hips and back. Maybe it's just the weather?

Kaw- I'm sure it's the bed rest that's causing your aches and pains. Sorry about the black forest cupcake, but I would think in moderation that it would be fine to eat (kinda like caffeine).

So, ladies... can we talk weight? **DUN DUN DUN**

I just want to know where everyone is, don't answer if you don't want, but no one will pick on you, I promise.

I am 23w4d and I have gained 10 lbs...

Now I want to know how much my baby weighs... Next Friday I will!

Kawa: I've had off and on lower back pains and sciatic nerve issues...I found this $13 maternity support at motherhood Maternity. It helps lift everything up so not all the pressure is on the same spots. You can't even see it under my clothes. Maybe you can find something like that? There are online ones that cost like $45, but you can definitely get cheaper ones like I did! As for the black forest cake, if it's cooked, or isn't much rum, I'm sure that you could eat it just fine :) Sounds delicious! I want someone to make me something yummy.

Iamcamp: I'm 20.5 weeks and I've gained 9.6 lbs. I was at 11 lbs, but lately I've been down a bit. I actually think maybe the acupuncture for the migraines is causing a decrease in appetite. So I'm going to have to force myself to actually eat more if I want to gain a lb a week instead of lose or stay the same! I think at 23 weeksish doesn't your baby weigh about a whole lb???

AFM: 4 days till ultrasound and hopefully finding out that the baby is doing great and what gender the baby is!!!

i have gained 12lbs. I gain weight so easily though, it must be those italian genes in me!

I went to a conference today and sat next to a girl who is due 2 days after me and will be delivering in the same hospital. we exchanged emails, needless to say. Too funny.

I am now going on 2 weeks with my sinus infection...errg, when will this go away!!!!

Had an ultrasound yesterday, everything looks great. I held strong and didn't find out the gender. So ladies, what neutral themes can you think of for the nursery???

@alli and camp... lol my mum would drench the cakes with rum after they cool down a bit that's why she said no.
@bens10 classic pooh is all I can really think of maybe some duckies or teddy bear would work with cream/yellow and light green.

I'm at 6 pounds so far and at my u/s on the 2nd the baby was weighing in at 11 ounces.

As for themes I have been all over on-line trying to find cute things. I decided not to go with anything at babys r us because everyone around here has it (thats the only place with baby stuff around that you don't have to do a special order). I have found some cool stuff. I can't believe some people though and how much they are willing to pay. Wow wee.

AFM, things are going great. Still have the back and hip issues but thats just part of the pregnancy. We got our crib in this weekend and have it all put together and I love it. I have ordered the bedding and it will be in next week. I'm so excited. My sister in law called me yesterday wanting my invite list for the shower already and I can't believe how time flies. We where thinking the second week in February just in case I end up on bed rest (low lying placenta). Other than that things are going great.

Alli, I can't wait until you find out tomorrow. Good luck hopefully baby isn't hiding. Oh and ask the specialist to show you the blood flow. Its amazing to see how that works.

I am not sure how to calculate my overall weight gain since I lost so much in the first trimester with the ms and appetite issues. I am just now back to my pre-pregnancy weight but have been slowly gaining on schedule week by week since my appetite has returned. That puts me at 8 lbs since my eating picked back up.

I ordered all my baby bedding today. so excited! I found a 20% coupon right before placing the order so that was a major plus! I am going with a Moroccan theme. Sounds random but the bedding is a Morroccan pattern and I am going to decorate with Morroccan lanterns. the colors are green aqua blue and light borwn. Hopefully it will turn out cute!

Alli can't wait to her the news!!
