January 2015 Babies Club!

Category: Due Date Clubs - January
Posted by prinder » May. 12, 2014 10:58am

Expecting a baby in January 2015? Join the club and share your experiences with antenatal care, symptoms, things you've learned, experienced and more!

To start with, I'm 28 years old and found out yesterday (11th of May - US Mother's Day) that I was pregnant. I live in the UK and my first appointment with a midwife will be on the 13th of June (at which time I will have been pregnant for 8 weeks).

My current symptoms have been sensitive nibs, occasional cramping, chronic fatigue, bloating and gassiness and the uncontrollable desire to consume the contents of my entire kitchen every two hours.

We don't plan on finding out the gender early, but I'm hoping for a drug-free water birth. Though my family is in the US and I'm not close to DH's folks, I have attentive support from him.

and have a Everyone!

So happy to see you over here Prinder!

I'm officially a day late now so I'm feeling even better about this!

I'm 29 and DH is 31. We are expecting our 2nd baby January 15! My first appointment is Friday May 16. I will be 5 weeks 1 day.

My only symptoms so far are extreme hunger, fatigue/exhaustion, and unfortunately gas! Other than those three things I'm great!

We plan to find out the gender before delivery if possible. I do not currently or plan on having a birth plan as my first labor did not go as planned. I had a non emergency c-section due to baby's head not wanting to stay straight to come out. My current OBGYN does vbacs so I do have options. It will probably depend on how things are going in the last trimester!

We will not be sharing the news with anyone until I'm much farther along, so I hope to be able to get my baby chatter out on here"

Hello ladies,

My baby number 2 is due On January 2nd! Very nervous due to a loss a few months ago.
So its going to be a Christmas and New Years on high alert for me.

I've just gotten to the morning sickness symptom on top of the cramps, frequent trips to the loo and so very very tired.

I have the midwife booking in appointment on the 23rd of May and an early private scan on the 28th.
I haven't thought much about birthing options, I'll get to that after the 12wk scan. I guess Gas & Air and a lot of strange mooing sounds like last time.

Hope everyone has a smooth journey into next year

Welcome Mmkohl and Sianny!

@Mmkohl Thought it would be good to get something set up for the group ahead of time, and this just made sense since information given at Antenatal classes from place to place are not always uniform. Glad you've decided to join us! What gender are you hoping for?

@Sianny Sounds like they just do the initial visit sooner in the states - in the UK the policy is to make women wait until they are at least 8 weeks before the first appointment which sounds pretty dumb (speaking as an American here - FYI). It's understandable what you're feeling; we're here for you, okay? Have you given any thoughts about finding out the gender early or not?

Hi!

Congratulations momma! We just found out this morning that we're pregnant, due Jan 14th as well! Although we've known for a few days, just from that "feeling" and lots of symptoms.

I'm looking for other momma's due in January too that would like to be DD Buddies. I know I could use the support & friendship of knowing some others are going through the same things :)

Congrats again!

Krystal

Thank you @prinder

I have quite the extensive list going of symptoms lol

Bloating
Fatique
HORRIBLE HEARTBURN (which is how I knew I was pregnant almost a week earlier)
Gas
Cramping
Acne
Dizziness
Nausea
Hot Flashes

Guess I should introduce myself as well!

My husband (31) and I (29) have 3 other children, ages 2-11 and one angel baby (07.25.12) - this pregnancy was not planned and quite a shocker to us, as we've been using the Family Planning Method of BC for years and NO problems at all. So we feel anxious about this but at the same time very excited.

Thank you for the warm welcome

Thanks Prinder. So happy to meet you all

(please note this reply contained more words but they were jibberish due to lack of sleep and I can't figure out if or how this can be deleted so I wrote more jibberish...)

Hi everyone! Congratulations on all the newly expecting moms! Prinder, thanks for telling me about this site, I didn't know of it!

Here's my story! I am 28 and DH is 29. This is my third baby :) I always wanted to have 3 or 4 kids :) I have a 10 yo son and an 18 mo son, and this baby is due January 16 or 17 depending on which site I use to calculate. My oldest was 10 days early and my youngest was 3 weeks early, so I don't really expect to go to term with this one, but you never know! I love to run, I know, crazy, I hear it all the time :)

My symptoms so far have just been tingly bbs, bloating/gas, and nausea here and there, mostly while or after eating, nothing to complain about! If I am not careful I think I will eat everything, but that is normal for me even when I'm not pregnant :) I run for food!

@prinder - the heartburn is god awful!! I have NEVER had heartburn before except maybe 2-3 times when pregnant with #3. That is the ONLY time I've ever had to deal with it. The other day I thought I was dying. I almost went to the ER bc it felt like a heart attack; I was scared to death. And I forgot to add that I am having HORRIBLE hip pains too.. like right on my lower back on the top of my pelvic/hip bones... they're like a throbbing/burning sensation. Very annoying. But I am prone to back problems (spent 3x a week at a chiropractor with #2 & #3)... so I'm sure its coming.

Other than that I am ok. I'm still trying to swallow that I have a teeny tiny baby growing inside me. I keep staring at my test... I was expecting a light BFP but it was DARK DARK and appeared immediately... this baby is definitely here and letting us know it!!

Hello Fellow Jan due daters,

Our estimated due date is is 18th Jan. We are sooo excited. TTC after 10 months.

My gp referred us to a fertility specialist and i was so looking forward to the appointment. The day i had to confirm the appointment i took a HPT and bam. Pregnant. Woo hoo!! Saved us $300.

Not sure if we plan to find out the gender but we have told mum and muminlaw on mothers day.

Had some nausea but feel better today. Took a second lot of bloods today because initial HCG at 26 LMP was 200.

Hoping all the best for all of us!!

@samanthapaige Omg, I'm so excited for you!

@Runnermama My second BUMP-SISTER! Welcome to the group, I'm so glad you decided to join us! This is going to be so awesome!

@surprisebaby Hip pains too? Ouch! I got some of that a couple of days ago, along with stabbing-cramps. Mine subsided after spending an hour or so walking and getting some more rest. No one is going to be putting that baby in a corner, I can tell right now.

@penelaine Welcome! Omg, and You've been on a long journey to get where you are now; I'm happy that we can be here with you for the rest of it. I told my mom on mother's day as well - the best mother's day gift ever, right? and for you!

@Prinder At this point in time I'm utterly miserable with constant sickness. With a 2yr old and no one available to help me out I have no choice but to get an emergency appointment tomorrow to up my current dosage of anti sickness. I really didn't want to take anything with this pregnancy but the risk of me ending up in hospital again. It's a no win situation.
But I shall fight on if I can

to all on your ! I'm so excited to be able to go through this journey with others at the same stage as me!

Prinder- we aren't really hoping for a boy or girl. Either one is fine. It's kinda more so we know if we are set with clothes or if we will have to go buy a bunch of girl stuff! My son is 17 months old so we still have all of his clothes to use and all the big stuff is gender neutral. The Chinese gender chart is predicting a girl but so far on my side and my DH family have only produced boys!

My appointment Friday is just to confirm pregnancy so it will most likely just be with the nurse. So I won't see my OB until after 8 weeks. (Which already feels like forever away)

@Mmkohl - I feel the same way about 8 weeks being so far away. The last two days have seemed to drag on ridiculously. I am not wishing away the days nor weeks... but man, I used to think time was flying by - now I'm wondering why it's standing still to you too btw!! I hope you have a .

How is everyone feeling today? I was in such an amazing mood yesterday, I felt great, I even went to the gym! Now today, I could have bit my husbands head off chewed it up and spit it out, all because I had to decide between two insurance providers, his and mine, and I wanted him to have all the answers for me. He of course didn't, which is more than understandable. By the time he got around to even looking at one, I had looked at them both, laid out every detail in comparison, and called the agent to double check my information, and made the final call. After all that insanity I was fine and back to myself. I apologized, of course, but holy mood swing batman. Here we go! this is gonna be a bumpy ride! Oh and now after all the adrenaline has wore off I'm ready to crash! the insurance agent even commented on how impressed he was at how analytically I had looked at each policy, I'm like you have no idea! I wish I wasn't quite that extreme, but he said its a good thing and wished more people had done the research before calling and asking for advise! I will take that as a compliment, I think! Well, Happy Mood Swings everyone!

Haha @runnermomma - this is how I felt today too. I'm still mixed full of all kinds of emotions (anxiety, nervousness, fear, etc)... having 4 kids is going to be crazy but I know it'll be worth it.

Last night I went to the gym too and felt great! And then today, woke up crying and carrying on all day. My husband made the comment about how we now have to not spend any money and save save save (which is understandable)... but we have NO baby things... so I was like "how are we going to buy baby stuff then?" and he goes "we'll worry about that when the baby comes..." UMMMM NO!! This aint your first rodeo! LOL Needless to say I bawled! hahaha... ohhhhh the joys of these dang pregnancy hormones!!

Did I mention I am starving today? I am not hungry at all, nor do I want any food until about 2:30-3pm and then it hits me HARD!!
