My Birth Plan

I don't have a complete birth plan. I have hired a Doula, and gotten into a great Midwifery Center that is connected to a labor and delivery ward. I hope to deliver medicine-free and more naturally. However, if I absolutely can't do it, being attached to the labor and delivery ward means I can just be wheeled over there and get some pain relief. With my previous births, they went pretty quickly. 6 hours with my first and about 2 hours with my second. So I'm hoping this one is in line with the second one and I can make it all the way to the end. With my 2nd I made it to 9 centimeters before I received a quick pain med shot that they called a "cocktail", because I was too far along for an epidural. Hopefully my doula (which I've never had before) can help me get into positions that will keep me from getting to the point where I can't take it anymore. So again, no real plan in place, but I do have options in place.

The harmony test and the blood they take for other chromosomal abnormalities are 2 different things. With the NT scan to check the back of the neck, they will also take blood. Most doctors won't do the harmony test unless you ask about it or are high risk which they will automatically do. I'd ask when you go and see if they will do it for you. But also check with your insurance company because some may not cover it if you are not high risk.
