About Me

My name is Christina Carter. I am 20 years old. I am married to Isaac Carter. We married on April 19, 2012. I got my BFP on May 27, 2012. I am due January 26, 2013. My due date is 9 months & 7 days from the day we got married. We started NTNP in February. We found out on August 29, 2012 that we are expecting a baby girl. We are naming her Maci.

My Birth Plan

I am open to whatever is necessary at the time but I have a few things I would like to have happen but I know that things normally don't go as planned so I will try to not be disappointed if somethings don't happen the way I hoped. This is what I would like to happen. Pain relief - I want to go as long as possible without pain medication. I want to use natural methods of pain relief such as walking, birthing ball and using the jet tub. If I find myself in need of pain relief I would like to use the IV medication first to see if that will be enough relief before giving up completely and getting an epidural. Anyone is welcome in the room while I am laboring as long as they are not causing distractions and getting in the way of anyone important (such as nurses, midwives & doctors). As for the birth I only wish for my husband, mother and mother in law be present. My husband is an over the road truck driver. In the event that he is not able to be present at the birth I wish for his mother to be on the phone with him while I am delivering so he can be apart of the birth even if he cannot physically be there. Also if he is not there I wish for a video camera to be set up in the room during labor and delivery so he can see what happened and will get to see his daughter when she takes her first breath. During labor and delivery I will try to use positions that will give me the most advantages. Laboring I would like to have free range of any position I feel I can get into to get comfortable enough to deal with the pain. Delivery I would like to have be able to be as upright as possible so gravity can help with her descend into the birth canal and into the world. I will however use whatever positions my midwife/doctor feel are necessary. In the event that I will have to have a c-section if my husband is home I want him in the room with me. If he is not I want my mother in the room so my mother in law can be on the phone with my husband telling him what is happening.
