About Me

DH and I are both 30 years old and I am pregnant with our second child. Our son is our whole world and I want nothing more than to give him a brother or sister! (We are hoping for a girl though) He is 3 years old and will be 4 before his sibling arrives. Our due date is July 7th. We began planning to add baby #2 to our family in January 2013. I was on depo at the time and we agreed I could skip my next injection which was due in March because we knew that it could still take some time after missing an injection to become pregnant. I did not have any cycles at all while on depo and it took until June for me to ovulate for the first time. We had a chemical pregnancy in September and conceived this baby the very next cycle in October. We are not going to find out the gender of the baby and we are not sharing the names we have picked out either. Some members of our family support us and are just as excited for the big surprise as we are and others are begging us to just find out the gender to put them out of their misery, lol.

My Birth Plan

I had to have an emergency C-section with my son and this time around I have switched OBGYN's to attempt a VBAC. I love my new doctor and new hospital. I thought before that I was going to have to have an epidural, but after talking with my doctor, he told me that was still my choice! I have never experienced full labor so I won't totally discount the idea of an epidural, but from all I have heard about possible complications and side effects of epidurals, I know I will not be asking for one right away. I prefer the idea of laboring without meds and feeling when my body is ready to push. Also the possible complications of epidural sound pretty awful so that will keep me from jumping on the epidural bandwagon for a majority of labor, I hope! I will have my Doula and best friend Nikki, my husband, my aunt, my son (my aunt is there to be his babysitter so DH and I can focus), and my 18 year old cousin in the delivery room so far! I have a couple of other very very close friends that have expressed an interest in being in the room and I told them that they are welcome to be there as well. It's probably going to be just a little crowded but I like the idea of a room that is that full of love for my baby to be born into and take his/her first breath in.

I am a but of a mess too. Lol I have the room done but I still have to get essentials like burp cloths and under shirts. I sent my husband to get bottles and he brought back one set. Lol in my head I feel like I know what's missing and every week I think of something else. I'm sure we'll be good by the time the babies come!
