About Me

Friday, November 10, 2017
Heeeeey. I'm Lizz. I'm joining you ladies now--still in shock, but excited and nervous. We've tried since March. I was starting to wonder if it couldn't happen! Especially since I have a shorter luteal phase.

Anyway, I'm 35, a coffee shop part owner, married to an elementary school art teacher in Virginia, USA. We got married roughly a year ago. Right now, we're fixing up this old house we live in. I have no savings account for a baby. But we're still gonna make things work.

My Birth Plan

I'm planning to use a midwife at a small independent birth center in a nearby town. I guess I'm going to have to give them a call and fill out some paperwork and do some testing! They offer water birth and some pain killers, but no gas or epidurals. I do not have an OBGYN, or a hospital ready to take me if anything goes wrong. My health insurance just changed, and I'm not sure what my options are now. I may not be able to cross state lines, which is a pain since I live on the border.

Congratulations! I'm in Virginia too. I used Seven Cities Midwifery for my last birth, but ended up getting transferred to a hospital. But I had a successful home birth with my first son - no issues. Look into your options just in case, so you have a back up plan, and just don't worry about the money or it'll stress you out. Good luck and have a safe, healthy birth!
