Eli Jacob's Birth Story
Not a very exciting birth story as this was a scheduled C-section and, unlike Colton (my first), I did not go into and labor and Eli did not decide to come hours earlier than the scheduled time :). Was told to get to triage at 6:00am for my scheduled C-section at 7:30am. I still can't determine if there were a couple of emergencies that came in and not enough operating rooms but Eli wasn't born until 10:02. They didn't start the IV until around 7:30am to 8:00am. Then, the real kicker, the spinal did not work after 1.5 hours and 7 attempts. They even did an ultrasound on my back and the third anasteologist was a professional so who knows. So, long story short, I had to be put out. I delivered at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. One of the best hospitals in the country so I must have a real messed up back, haha. My poor husband waited around in scrubs, sweating his balls off, for over an hour just to be told that he couldn't go back and could take them all off. I was up and alert but 11:00am. Went into a recovery room and saw the hubs holding my baby so that was kind of cool. They gave him to me to hold as I not so patiently waited for some pain medication that they were working on getting me, lol. Got out of the hospital a day early and here we are!
