Avarie Nicole Meredith's Birth Story

I had started Contracting by myself on Thursday 12/28..... I didn't pay much attention because we were going in at 8:00 pm for an induction . We got to L&D and they hooked me up to monitor. The started seeing with every contraction that her heart rate was dipping. They tried to hook me up to pitocin shortly after to get things moving faster, but she reacted terribly. I was there all night being flipped and turned because of her heart rate. The Dr. Broke my water at 730 on the 29th to see if she would handle the Labor better, but I was not progressing without the oxytocin, and everytime they started the drup she had a rough time. So st close to 5 pm on the 29th they decided to do a c-section. Scariest thing in my life. My babies umbilical cord was abnormally small and her placenta looked bad as well. The Dr. Said it was a good thing we went in when we did. If I would have stayed pregnant much longer, things could have been much worse. She is absolutely tiny and sopoop little, but was graded a 9 on apgar. However, because she was so small, she was having some issues with her blood sugar. So she was sent to Nicu. Very scary thing for us. Just want to bring her home.

Aww I'm so happy she arrived safe, even though you had kind of a dramatic birth! Congratulations!!! So happy for you!

He stripped my membranes tonight, but doesn't think it will do much. I'm 1 1/2 Cm Dilated And 80% effaced, But no matter what, we will have a baby by Friday! He is going to induce tomorrow night. It's not something I wanted, but he thinks it will go just fine.
