Leah's Birth Story

Went to the hospital for intense contractions just to have them almost disappear. I did have a few contractions which caused her heart rate to drop. The nurse had already taken me off of the monitor but the doctor decided to put me back on to monitor her heart rate a little longer before sending me home. At 10am he decided to induce because of the heart rate issue. While waiting to be induced my contractions picked up FAST. I was still in triage at this point. They sent me to l&d and the nurse said I was contracting enough to not need pitocin but put in for my epidural. As soon as they finished the epidural I had the urge to push. They had to go grab a doctor and delivery table very quickly. At noon my daughter was born. Just TWO HOURS after I was supposed to go home she was born. I'm so thankful that they didn't send me home and that I did it without an induction. I would have loved the epidural though.
