37 Weeks!!!
By jennavee » Posted May. 15, 2014 8:54pm - 627 views - 7 comments

How far along? 37 weeks
Total weight gain: 27 pounds
Maternity clothes? yup
Stretch marks? Still the same
Sleep: nope!
Best moment this week: getting in the pool....AMAZING! I felt weightless and it was oh so glorious.
Movement: it's slowed down, but still pretty active
Food cravings: anything...I think he dropped because I've been STARVING all the time! Probably explains the 2 pound gain!
Gender: BOY!
Labor signs: losing parts of mucus plug...sorry, TMI
Symptoms: heartburn (REALLY bad again), sciatica, so so so tired
Belly button in or out? flat/halfway out
Wedding rings on or off? off cuz I'm too lazy
Happy or moody most of the time: happy, but ready to get this done!

This week we've been working on getting my older son in the crib in his room. I honestly think it might be harder on me than it is on him. :-(
I had my 37-week appointment with the midwife today! Still no cervical checks (so happy about that!). Test results came back negative for GBS (HALLELUJAH!!) so no need for antibiotics or any other preventative methods and no need for early stress if my water breaks. Baby's heartbeat was excellent, it sped up while she was listening right when I started talking, so I'm telling myself it was my baby just excited to hear my voice lol! Now that I've hit 37 weeks I'm in the clear to deliver at the birth center. The midwife gave me some pointers on making sure he isn't posterior when labor starts (he's not posterior now, but just in case). We're getting out the yoga ball for me to bounce on. I can't WAIT to get in the pool again this weekend!!!

LOL that's not TMI, not here anyway. I can't wait to start seeing bits of mine so I know that something is happening. Never saw any of it with my son and I never dilated at all with him so I am extra anxious to see it this time around.

your so close now! that is crazy, your pregnancy flew by! I would lay my daughter down in her crib and then pat her back and walk a few steps, not completely out of the room but by the door, she would usually throw a fit or two but then after 10 minutes or so she would calm down and go to sleep, it felt like forever and it was not fun! I hope you can get him sleeping well before the little one comes!

If ya'll are interested in mapping to see where the baby is laying in your tummy most of the time, or tips on positioning, check out spinningbabies.com It helped me figure out where the baby was, then the midwife confirmed I was right!

museli - I thought it was weird about the heartburn too...with my first it completely went away when the baby dropped, if I remember correctly. It could be my diet though lol!

emma - she said he's head down and seems like his head is in the right spot. When she checked yesterday his back was on my right side though, and I guess it's supposed to be on the left. She'd had a patient she had to send to the hospital the night before because the baby was stuck posterior though so I think she was just worried about it.

Congrats on full term! Weird and sucks that he's dropped (so you're hungry) but you're still getting awful heartburn. Everything I've read indicates that after baby has dropped into position, the heartburn at least eases up.

Don't worry about TMI on a site like this (in my opinion, anyway). We're all here going through the same stuff & I find it good to read & learn about!

I'm also interested in what the midwife said about helping baby reposition - do tell!

Almost there! Good luck with the crib training. The crying is harder for you than it is for them.
What did the midwife say about baby position? I'm curious. I keep trying to figure out where my little buddy is but I'm at a loss and my doc isn't interested.
