Birth Story!! (late I know)

On May 18th, I had more discharge than usual, I assumed it meant labor was slowly on its way. or that I was dilating more. I ignored it and went about my day. Contractions were still the same strength and frequency..

On may 19th, contractions were still the same (the weak 2-3 minute ones). Ruby had fallen ill and I was constantly jumping up out of bed to her screams. I was very annoyed at all the discharge and also kept getting up and changing pads. At 11:15 pm, Aaron and I were finally settling in for the night. I turned over and felt a bunch more discharge and something kinda wet. I jumped up and ran into the bathroom just in time for my water to break completely. at 11:30 pm. Of course Aaron was already asleep so I called for him and he woke up. I waddled my way to get a pad and leaked the whole way there (no denying it wasn't my water by that point). The contractions were suddenly getting worse and we were shuffling to make sure we had everything. Ruby had another fit and Aaron was going to run me up to L&D and Ruby up to ER, but once he told her that baby Scarlett was coming, she was no longer sick. I called mom and she got herself together and by 12:30 am, we were en route to the hospital. We went through ER entrance and they took down my info and called L&D to come get me. I got up to L&D and they checked to see if my water had broken with a paper strip, the paper turned blue immediately meaning it was amniotic fluid. They got me hooked up to the monitors and checked my cervix. I was really thin (so maybe a 90%) and I was still at 3 cm but baby was at 0 station. They got my antibiotics started and an IV and tried to explain things and get me to sign papers and everything was getting repetitive and I was barely listening. Awhile later the nurse checked me again and said that I was at a 4 cm and asked me if I wanted any pain medicine. I told her no and dealt with the pain. I got up a few times to go pee but when I got there I couldn't go (they said it was baby's weight on my bladder). I got back to bed and labored more with ice chips, a wet washcloth, a wet paper towel, and a fan. Vomited 3 times, so I assume I was at a 6-7 cm. They didn't check again because of increased infection risk. Mom and Ruby left so Ruby could get some sleep. I think they left about 1:30 am or so. I was re-considering getting pain medicine and asked about the one that goes in the IV. The nurse told me that it will take the edge off but I will still feel them. I told her I would think about it and asked Aaron his input. He figured since I had gotten this far, I could do it without, but I wanted some relief since I had no sleep at all that day/night. I got some medicine and tried to go to sleep but they were too strong and i could still feel how painful they were. The nurse was talking to me when I suddenly felt baby's head move down and I was in so much pain. The nurse asked how I felt and I told her I needed to push, she checked me and I was complete and baby was on her way out. She told me not to push, she needed to call the doctor. Called the doctor and had to try not to push for over 30 minutes. I eventually told her I had to push and pushed quite a few times, baby was beginning to crown when the doctor got there. We had to wait for him to get his gown on and get all his stuff out (about 15 minutes). When everyone was ready I pushed and pushed and slowly baby Scarlett made her appearance. She was born at 2:45 am on May 20th, 2013. She was put on my chest and nurse #1 wiped baby off while nurse #2 tended to the incubator, the doctor was pulling the placenta out (and yes it hurt a lot). Since they knew of my previous PP Hemorrhage, they got Pitocin started immediately. After I was stitched up, they took baby over to the incubator for her measurements and tags. She weighed 6 . 3 pounds and was 20 . 5 inches long. Head circumference was 13 cm.
