6w: First OB Appointment
By DestinyStarr » Posted Mar. 7, 2012 6:04pm - 210 views - 6 comments

I had my first OB appointment today.

Normally my doctor doesn't see patients until closer to eight weeks, but since the miscarriages, she wanted to see me a little earlier than normal.

I originally scheduled for my annual exam, but I've gotten pregnant in the interim (yay!). So, she proceed with the head-to-toe exam, including pap, and then I got my first ultrasound.

We saw the sac and fetus, but no heartbeat yet. But, it IS still very early. The baby is measuring 5w5d and the sac, 6w. From this, she gave me a due date of November 1 and said she wanted to see me again for another scan next week to see if the baby's development was on track. Got my blood drawn too, so hopefully I will have the results within a couple of days.

Can't wait until next week!!!

aww yay. Yeah the first time I had a heartbeat detected on u/s was 6 weeks 3 or 4 days. So still some time there. Its amazing how fast it happens too. I went in the ER at 4 weeks 6 days and nothing was there like nothing, empty sac, then at 5 weeks 1 day went into obgyn triage for a follow up to ER and low and behold the yolk sac and fetal pole were there.. in just 2 days. So crazy!
