7w2d: Potluck Purgatory and Pregnancy Progression

I am STUFFED.

Good grief.

We just had a potluck lunch here at work, and I made the cutest plate with all of these teeny small portions of everything on my plate (normally I would pile it up but I was trying to keep myself under control).

Then folks went back for dessert. It was all downhill from there. I had some banana pudding and chocolate cake. Yummmmmmmmmmmmm.

Since my "pipes" aren't being cleared regularly from the bottom, it is now backing up to the main line and I think that I am finding myself feeling more full and uncomfortable a lot sooner than normal. And I don't like it one bit.

I just realized, too, that I never updated my journal after my appointment yesterday. We saw the baby, s/he had almost tripled in size from 2.4mm last week to 7mm, and we saw a heartbeat!! The lil pumpkin's heart was beating at 118bpm. Bloodwork from the week prior showed my progesterone at 19.7 (yay!) and my HcG at 88,000 ............ huh?........ *record scratch*

Did I say 88,000?? Yes I did.

When I was in the doctor's office, and she was looking at my chart and just rattled that number off I thought to myself 'wow! that sounds great!' But then, I got home and got curious and started looking up normal/average Hcg levels for my gestation.

88,000 seems a bit high for 6 weeks (at that time). Um, I think she must've meant 8800? or Maybe 8000? I dunno. I'm certain that there is only one baby in there and I don't think it's that big of a deal to call back for the exact number, so whatever.

I'm scheduled to go back when I am 11weeks. My doctor initially asked if I wanted to come back in next week to look in and "check" but I declined. Given the past miscarriages, I could tell that she was trying to gauge my emotional state about the pregnancy. I just told her that I will wait the requisite time that any other normal patient would. I don't want nor need the stress of going back and forth to her office "peeking in" etc. I am confident that my baby is fine and I can't wait to see his/her face this October!!

So glad your ultrasound went well! Only a few more weeks until your next, not that long from now. Good luck at the next one! And mmmmm... A potluck sounds pretty good right now. I wouldn't be able to contain myself, I'd probably eat everything while the rest of the people stare at me in amazement. I think I want to hunt down some banana pudding today.
Hugs and best wishes!

awesome news!!! oh wow.. a potluck would be a bad idea for me right now.. I would eat all the food hahaha!! my friends had a going away dinner for me last night and INHALED a huge plate of lasagna and salad. It was damn good. lol. 88,000 could be right actually... at 4 weeks 5 days my beta was 4800 and it doubles every 48 hrs so.. could be. I also was seemed to have a higher hcg...but.. its a good sign :)
