First OB appointment =))

So I had my first OB appt today...I love my Dr!!

Ok, so a little hx. I got my first vvf BFP 8 days after sex/ewcm/+ opk/O pains, so I feel pretty confident that I was 8dpo (I suppose I could've been 7dpo, but that's *really* pushing it with the timing of the BFP). So, fast forward to June 10th, brown spotting started and lasted for 2 days, then bright red light flow followed...awesome! That continued for a week and a half before I finally gave in and went to the ER to be checked. There was no pain or cramping, or even clots bigger than a piece of rice, so it wasn't something I considered an immediate threat, I did want to know if it was another SCH and if baby was ok (or even there) tho. So the ER did a scan and took bloodwork. Baby measured 6w1d with a FHR of 105bpm. Exactly 1 week behind my O date, no source of bleeding. It was also noted that I have a bicornuate uterus...which I totally don't! I've had numerous scans, HSG/SSG, 2 doctors physically touching and viewing my uterus and they're telling me not one of them saw this? Smfh! Whatever! This was a Wednesday, btw. The Monday after, I was listening to the FHR on my doppler, loud and clear (and recorded).

Ok, so 8 days later I go to see my GP to get the paper work for my scan and bloodwork. I mentioned the ER scan and results and explained my details (sex, BFP etc) and how I was worried that the U/S was either off, or something was wrong with baby. I then told her about hearing the heartbeat at 6w6d (according to the ER scan) and how that's confusing and impossible. She then asked me if I was sure it wasn't my own HB. I let her listen to it, she then smiled and slightly shook her head and told me that's my abdominal aorta. She's a "medical professional" and can't find a FHR on her patients til 10 or 12 weeks, so there's no way I would find it before that. Ok. My resting HR is NOT 160! I consider myself intelligent enough to notice when my fucking HR increases. Not to mention, I'm on beta blockers, I couldn't get my HR that high if I ran a mile. She knows this, she prescribes me the fucking drugs. Then at the end the appt, she took my BP, through my fucking sweater! I lost all respect for her that day! I need her for nothing more than prescriptions and referrals. Unfuckingbelievable!

Ok, so then we have a second scan on July 10th, the "dating scan". That scan dates me 4 days ahead of the first one, with a FHR of 167...now baby is only 3 days behind. All looked good, still can't find the bleed. Which brings us to my OB appt today, 10w4d. We went over my previous delivery and the whole Bandl's Ring issue, VBA2C is def off the table, as expected. Then we went over the ER visit. This prompted my OB to scan me and diagnose for himself. As expected, no bicornuate uterus and still no source for the bleed. Baby measured ahead by 2 days (40mm total), so that puts me at 10w6d, 1 day off O. BP was 98/68, pretty normal for me, but if it goes much lower, he's pulling me off the blockers (and the migraines will soon follow). It was a good visit, it always is tho, he's a great OB! Next visit will be results of the FTS. Next ultrasound, July 31st. Yay!

Anyways, that's my story. Not very exciting, it's been a bumpy ride! All-in-all, I really can't complain...baby appears to be healthy, and I feel great! Hope ur all doing well! =))

Thanks, ladies!
I had a nurse at my house on Friday taking blood, urine, BP and weight, for an insurance company. BP was great...surprising, considering I had had a migraine since Wednesday and was pretty dried out from the vomiting. The bleeding is nothing more than caramel coloured cm. I don't *need* a liner but I wear one anyways. I'm not sure it's ever gonna stop. Ah well. Baby's heart is thumping away, so I'm happy.
1 more week til my next scan! Yay!
Hope ur all well! =))

I'm so glad you have a great OB. These other people sound clueless!! Ugh. I also had unexplained bleeding. At 22 weeks I passed a huge clot, went to the ER frantic, scan showed baby was fine. No explanation for it at all. It sounds like everything will be ok :) will be thinking of you!

Hopefully everything continues to go well with you and baby! =) I had multiple episodes of bleeding with my second baby and none of my scans showed anything toexplain the bleeds. I did have a large ovarian cyst though that they weren't very concerned about which could have potentially been the culprit.

Well at least your OB is the credible one in this entire scenario. Imagine if your OB was one of the other "medical professionals" from your journal. Yikes! It is soooo important to have an OB that doesn't treat you like an idiot. I have had plenty of people talk to me like I'm a toddler when I try to explain my medical situations with pregnancy. It's so annoying.... please don't smile, talk loud and slow, and enunciate every.single.world. My ears work just fine! ;) Hope your BP stays steady -- getting migraines suuuuuuck, even more so when you can't take all the meds that get rid of them AND you're running around after kids.

Wow! That's ridiculous! I'd switch doctors. We see a RN at the beginning of the appt, she tests urine and takes weight and BP, then the OB comes in after. I've never *not* seen an OB for prenatal appts. I'd def complain and get the fuck outta there quick. Talk to ur dentist too, there's not a very big window for dental work when pregnant, at least not with my dentist. Second tri is the only time he'll do fillings and extractions. It could be diff there tho. Don't live with a bad tooth tho, that's bad for ur health.

I'm glad your Dr. Has some brains..... I haven't even seen my Dr. Yet. And I'm gonna bitch them out good. All I've been asked the last couple times I've seen the NP is how I'm feeling and how things are going! Let's see, I've loat 16 lbs since I've been pregnant, I have a bad tooth that needs to come out, and I feel like I'm dehydrated the rest of the time. I just can't seem to drink enough water to feel better. I'm not happy at all with my Dr.....
