Planning our first family vacation

We're planning on driving down to Texas at the end of June to visit my best friend. I'll be 18 weeks by then and Brandt will almost be 11 months old. I am so excited to be going to visit her, but I'm also getting nervous about the 12 hour drive. We're planning on splitting the driving between 2 days, as I know both of the kids will need pit stops, as will my husband and I. But how do you keep an 11 month old entertained on a road trip? The first day, we'll be leaving around 4pm and we are planning on stopping at 10 or 11 for the night, as I'm not comfortable driving road I don't know after dark and I know hubby will be exhausted as he works the morning of the day we're leaving. Anyone have any tips?
