36+1, appointment and NST update

My appointment went well! Valerie would not let us get a look at her face, as she had it all smooshed up into the placenta. The pictures we did get look like blobs. lol. She is measuring in the 75th percentile as of right now at a whole 6lbs 9oz. She is going to be a chunky baby. The tech is guessing she'll be around 8lbs if she's born at 39 weeks. (We're going to induce at 39 if she decides to be stubborn, since I have a history of complications and I am over an hour away from my deivery hospital.) The doctor hinted that we may end up inducing at 38 weeks, if I do not go into labor by then, due to my GD. I have my next 2 appointments scheduled, but they didn't want to schedule an appointment for 39 weeks. No one in the office thinks I'll need it. lol. Anyways, Valerie passed the NST. She decided to take a nap when they initially hooked me up, but I kept poking at her and she woke up enough to do what they wanted her to. I am having contractions that are picked up by the monitor, but they aren't close enough, strong enough, or consistent enough to worry about. Although they have gotten worse since I left the office. I had my group B strep test done today, and I am dialted to 1cm, but still thick. Although if these contractions keep up, that could change quickly. I have also determined that I can no longer drive long distances. The contractions are too much of a distraction and are just uncomfortable borderline painful enough that I do not trust me driving through them. So if my husband can not take me somewhere or if I can not find a ride to go somewhere, I am housebound. Especially if I have to take my kids anywhere.

Pbc, my youngest son was 8lbs, so 6lbs9oz isn't bad. I just hope Valerie doesn't get any crazy ideas about gaining a whole lot more weight. lol. The doctor, nurse, and u/s tech think I'll go on my own by 38 weeks, so we'll see. My induced labor with my youngest went a lot faster and smoother than my natural labor with my oldest, so I'm good either way, as long as the baby is healthy.
MalPal, if she waits until my due date, I will be very surprised. She would also share a birthday with my stepmom then, as well. But honestly, I would rather not have her so close to Thanksgiving. Although it would be the best excuse ever not to have to go to any family meals, I do not fancy being in the hospital on Thanksgiving.
And thanks, ladies! I am happy she passed the NST. I have to get them weekly due to my GD, but my doc does not expect any issues.

Glad to hear your appointment went well. If they told me these babies were 6lbs I'd tell them to take them out now!!!! I bet she comes before you need to be induced. Hopefully she does and it all goes smoothly!

Congrats on Valerie passing the NST! Sorry about the contractions but you are almost there!!!!!! I do wish she would wait until your due date though so we can share a birthday, lol.

aww hand in there! not much longer to go! Being housebound does suck. I depend on my husband to really do the driving because of my blood pressure issues. It causes me to get such bad dizzy spells that I don't really trust driving much these days.
