37 weeks!

I am 37 weeks today and considered term (although I know the longer she stays where she is the better)! At any point in the next 21 days, I could meet my baby girl. I am so excited! My oldest is going plum crazy with excitement. Everyday he asks me if it's the day he gets to meet Sissy. And everyday I tell him I don't know. lol. He knows it is FINALLY November and that Valerie is due this this month. Every time we go somewhere, he has to tell everyone we see his baby sister's name and that he is happy happy happy about having a little sister. lol. I think it's cute, although after the third person he shouts it to it gets a little embarassing. lol.

I am still in my "nesting fit", as my husband called it yesterday. I'm taking a break from tackling my bedroom. My youngest is napping, so I am taking advantage of him not being able to get into everything to clean back there. I'm pretty much just rearranging my closet, pulling out baby items we had stored in there, packing away summer clothes (although with the way the weather has been, I am leaving them accessible), and trying to put away tripping hazards. (I can not count how many times I have tripped over crap while trying to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night.)

Valerie seems to be sitting impossibly low today. I'm having a lot of pressure in my lady bits and my bottom. It constantly feels like I have to poo. (I've even tried to go, thinking may help and nothing happens.) She's got the hiccups currently and I can feel her bouncing around down there. (It is the most strange feeling ever, as I never felt my boys that low down.) It also feels like I'm leaking down there, but every time I check, there is nothing. My panties are dry, and I'm only getting additional discharge when I wipe. I am having some contractions today, and they *seem* to be getting more regular and closer together, but nothing strong enough to get excited about. I feel them more if I stand still or sit down, but I have been up and moving most of the day. (Yes, I am taking breaks, drinking plenty of water, and not pushing myself beyond my limits.)

As for my gestational diabetes, I am finding it harder to control with diet the farther along I get. My levels are up and down and I have not changed my diet since we found what keeps them within normal range. I'm eating the same things pretty much day after day, so I don't understand why my glucose levels are fluctuating so much this past week and a half. It is something I will be asking my doctor at my appointment tomorrow, but I have heard that an increase of hormones in late pregnancy can throw things off a bit. *shrug* Like I said, it's on my list to ask about tomorrow.

I DID manage to finish my boys shirts for baby day yesterday. I think they turned out pretty cute, despite the fact that I freehanded them and my carpal tunnel caused my hand to freeze up while doing them. My oldest asked if he could wear his to school today, and I had to tell him no. I explained to him that he can wear it when he meets his baby sister for the first time, and then after that, he can wear it whenever he wants to. It seemed to placate him and make him even more excited about baby day. (That's what we call the day I go into labor. Baby day. It makes it easier for him to understand.) I'm attaching a picture of the shirts.

Anyways, I think I hear my youngest stirring from his nap so I better go. Hope everyone is doing well!

pbc, I started bawling when my oldest first met my youngest after he was born last year. He was super excited then as well. We let him sit up on my bed and hold him, and he just kept kissing on him and hugging him. I'm sure there will be lots of tears this time as well. And I love it when older siblings are excited to meet their new brother or sister.

Summer, I really hope to hear I have progressed tomorrow. I would hate to hear that all the contractions I have been having and whatnot have not been doing anything. And I hope they can give me some answers on my glucose levels as well. The next step is adding meds and I really want to avoid that.

Love the shirts! Adorable! I'm so jealous of how close you are. Plus you're having all the right symptoms for baby trying to get ready for her arrival. So happy for you that things are going well. I hope they give you a good answer for your glucose levels going crazy. Good luck!
