38+5, short update

Went to the hospital last night, as my contractions quickly went from 7-10 minutes apart to 3-5 minutes apart. I was monitored for a little over 3 hours. While the contractions were close, they were not strong enough to cause any cervical changes, so I was sent home. Upon release, I was 3-4 cm dilated. The contractions lasted until about 3am when they started tapering off, and as of right now, I am having some mild cramping, but no actual contractions. My bag of watwr was still intact and the nurses could bounce Valerie's head during the exams, so she is still fairly high up. I was released under false labor, but the on call doc made sure to tell me I am definitely NOT in false labor, it's just early labor. She said I could go into active labor in a few hours, or the early labor could keep going until my induction Tuesday morning. But obviously, Valerie is still tucked away in my belly and is proving to be one stubborn little girl. While frustrating, I am trying to enjoy the last few days I have with my sons alone and finish up some last minute things around the house. Thank you all for your encouraging words last night and I can't wait to introduce you all to Valerie when she decides it is time.

Thanks, everyone. Today has been contraction free for the most part, just a stray one every so often. I have definitely enjoyed the day, cuddling with my sons and finishing up the last few things we needed to prepare for Valerie. My oldest is so excited about baby day.

I'm so excited for you! I'm sure, when it's Caroline's turn, she'll drag it out as long as she can. Just enjoy your last little while before the storm starts.

These babies sure do like to trick us. I hope the next time you have to go through all the contractions, it's the real thing. Either way, only a few days left. I'm so jealous! Keep us posted :)
