It is 10:30 and Valerie is wide awake and showing no signs of going to sleep anytime soon, even though Daddy is rocking her. She's been staying up until 11 or later this week for some odd reason. But, at least she'snot screaming like she has been for the past few nights. She's been really gassy and has had bad diarrhea, which has her bottom really raw. I've had diarrhea as well, and I'm starting to wonder if we caught a stomach bug from somewhere. No puking from anyone, thankfully, just a lot of upset bellies and frequent running trips to the bathroom/diaper changes. =/

Valerie absolutely loves her big brothers. She's all smiles when they are paying her attention. She loves it when Brandt comes up and gives her "kisses". (They're toddler kisses, which means open mouthed, drooling on you kisses, but she loves it.) When my oldest gets home from school, and she hears him talking, she really lights up. Tyler is really good with her, always wanting to hold her and talk to her. He gets upset if he doesn't get to give her goodnight hugs and kisses if she's asleep when he goes to bed. He is so happy to have a baby sister.

As for my PPD, I'm doing alright. Today was day 4 of being on meds and I'm starting to feel my symptoms lessen. I'm feeling a little less emotionally numb, which is great. I am starting to feel the connection with my daughter as well. I was feeding her earlier and she wanted to hold my finger and just cuddle as close as she could. It was simply amazing, and I just looked at her while she was staring up at me and thought, "I love this little girl so much." I hate being on medication, but things are already looking up. My relationship with my husband is improving, as is my relationships with my children. I actually went out today and didn't have an anxiety attack about leaving the house! I shocked myself and my husband with that. He kept asking me if I was sure I was ok, and then made fun of me because I didn't have a white-knuckled death grip on the oh sh!t handle of the van like I had been doing. lol.

I have my surgery to get my tubes tied this upcoming Tuesday morning. I'm starting to get nervous about it. I definitely know that I do not want anymore children, so I'm not doubting that. It's more so that the more I research the surgery, the more I'm like maybe my husband should just get snipped. lol. Most medical professionals say it takes 3-5 days to recover after it, but I've seen a lot of sites and blogs claim it took a month or longer. My doctor said it takes about 2 weeks. I'm not allowed to drive for the first week, no sex for a month, I can't lift anything heavier than 15lbs for a month (which is NOT going to work very well, since my 17 month old is 30lbs and I will have to lift him in and out of his crib since my husband works mornings/early afternoons), etc. Plus, I'm nervous because it's a surgery and I will be put under. I'm sure everything will be fine, though, and I know that this is normal to be nervous about surgery.

Anyways, I'm attaching yet another picture of Valerie. She was smiling and telling me and Brandt stories. She is getting so big so fast.

Thanks, ladies! I hate taking the meds, but they are definitely doing what they are supposed to do, so it's worth it.

Glad to hear everything is improving!! That's great news. I'm sure your surgery and recovering will be better than you expect, but I don't blame you for being worried. Valerie looks so cute. Love the tutu!!

That tutu is killing it! I'm so glad you're feeling better and getting back into the swing of things. You're brave to research the surgery... My husband wants me to have it if I have to have a cesarean and if they'll do it in the same hospital stay. If they don't or I have a natural birth, it's definitely his turn to undergo the knife. I've had brain surgery and my cesarean so I'm over going under. *Snort*

Sorry about the stomach bug! Glad your boys love Valerie and she loves them. It must be amazing to see them together. I'm glad the medicine is helping you and hearing your success really gives me hope :). Good luck with your surgery.

She is just too sweet! I'm so glad that the medicine is helping you! :) The thought of any kind of procedure always scares me, so I totally get why you're nervous! I already told my husband I won't be getting my tubes tied, lol. And I'm also avoiding getting my wisdom teeth out because the thought of going under scares me. I hope everything goes smoothly on Tuesday and that your recovery is fast!! :)
