Valerie is 8 weeks old and surgery update

Little Miss V is a whole 8 weeks old today! It's hard to believe it has been 8 weeks since she made her arrival, but at the same time, it's hard to imagine life without her. She's smiling more and more everyday, especially so when Daddy or her biggest bubby talks to her. She's got both of them wrapped around her tiny little fingers. My youngest son is starting to become a jealous little boy because Valerie is such a high maintenance baby, but we're trying to work around it. We've gotten into the habit of telling him that sissy needs Mommy/Daddy when she needs fed/burped/changed/etc, so we have started telling her that bubby needs Mommy/Daddy when he needs something. Valerie is also starting to grab at toys on her play mat, so we'll lay down on the floor beside her with him and let him play with her. It's not killing the jealousy completely, but it's helping. I try to include him more and more as she gets older. He likes to help me feed/burp her, he "helps" me make her bottles, and he will hand me wipes when changing her diaper.

I had my surgery to get my tubes tied this morning. The surgery went well and I am back home. I immediately took a 3 hour nap because I was still pretty out of it. I don't even remember them putting me under. lol. I'm pretty tired still, and really sore. More so from the gas they inflated my abdomen with than the surgery itself, but I'm sure I will be plenty stiff and hurting in the morning. It's hard finding a comfortable position to sleep in and I ended up curling around a body pillow during my nap. It'll be interesting for sure when my husband is n bed with me and I have a feeling I will end up in the recliner. The hard part is going to be getting Valerie to sleep through the night since we usually cosleep, and I can't do that for a least a week. 1. They pain killers they gave me knock me out cold and I do not feel safe sleeping with beside me while taking them. 2. Her feet sit right at the incision at my navel and she is a kicker. She's already kicked me a few times and it hurts. I'm having some trouble holding her, which makes me very thankful my husband cashed in some vacation time to be at home until Saturday. My dad is taking both of my sons this weekend to help me out, so I'll only have Valerie starting Friday night. I'm hoping I won't be as stiff and sore by then. If I am, our neighbors have said they would come down and help me out, which is great.

Anyways, I hope everyone is doing well!
Summer, good luck tomorrow and I can't wait to read your birth announcement!
