Valerie is 5 months old tomorrow. She is getting so big so quick. She started wearing 3-6 month clothes about a month ago, and she is now in mostly 6-9. She still fits in some 3-6 tops, but bottoms are straight 6-9. She's got my long legs and big thighs. Lol. She's rolling both ways now, and attempts to crawl. She can kick herself around in circles and she will pull her blanket closer to reach her toys. She's been eating solids for almost a month now. She lives bananas and sweet potatoes mixed with some rice cereal. She smiles when she sees the bowl and spoon. She is also getting very vocal. She's babbling and screeching all the time still. She is not shy at all about letting you know what she likes and what she doesn't. Lol. She's gotten to the point where she mimics my words. I swear she said Mommy a few days ago. My husband even heard. It is was very clear. I know it was just baby babble, but it still made my day.

Her big brothers still adore her. My oldest still loves kissing on her, but other than that, he's lost interest in having a baby sister, which I knew would happen. He's a little jealous because she requires a lot more attention now. (She's become very high maintenance, unfortunately. Always has to have someone's attention except when she's sleeping.) I've tried to pull him back in and involve him with her, but he is resisting. It has become increasingly difficult to slpit time evenly between all 3 kids. My youngest son doesn't seem to mind. He is content to sit beside me while I hold Valerie, and he loves to throw away dirty diapers. Lol. He has hit the extreme separation anxiety phase, so I always have him and Valerie attached to me in one way or another. Thankfully, Valerie has taken to the baby carrier so I am able to put her in it and have my hands free to play with Brandt or do what I need to do.

My oldest turns 6 next Friday. We have his party Saturday. We aren't able to do much this year, but we have friends and family coming down and I am making cupcakes. Money is very tight and we just can't afford to do much more, but I am determined to make the best of it and give him a good birthday. He had a field trip coming up in May to our local amusement park, so we're giving him $20 to use to buy himself whatever he wants when we go. (It will be him and me going, since he has to have a parent go with him.) He is very excited to use his own money to get something.

But anyways, I hope everyone and their babies are doing well!

Pbc, it is hard, so so hard to give them equal time. Brandt usually is fine, so long as I keep talking to him while attending Valerie. But Tyler is not. He wants me to drop everything right when he wants to do something, and that is usually when the younger ones decide to start screaming. And I agree. Baby talk is the cutest. I swear Valerie has said Mommy 5 times already, clear as day. I know it's just her mimicking sounds, but I get all excited each time she does it. Lol. And the baby food...her pediatrician had us start giving her good at her 4 month check up. She was avidly watching us eat, reaching for the spoon, and trying to sit up to get to the food. She has done great with it so far. She's only had bananas and sweet potatoes so far, but we're getting ready to introduce some greens. I think as long as the baby seems ready for it, I see no harm giving them baby food before 6 months

So, so hard to give everyone attention! I have that problem and not even between the twins, with the twins and their older siblings. Even though the older brothers and sister understand that twins need more attention they still don't always like it. It will be interesting when the twins get old enough to realize there is only one mommy to go around. I haven't experienced any issues giving them both attention but it's only a matter of time. Baby talk is the cutest thing and I have a big talker in Oliver. He makes all kinds of noises and likes to yell. Usually his preferred method of vocalization is giggles. We are getting ready to start rice cereal and some other foods because formula just isn't enough and babies are ready for a little food. Just don't tell my mom...she is so against it until they are 6 months yet she gave her 3 kids solids at 2.5 months! Hope your son has a blast on his trip and has a great birthday!

Stephanie, I can't believe it either! I'm still having trouble wrapping my mind around my oldest turning 6. Lol. And thanks! He is really looking forward to the trip. It's his first time going to an amusement park and he is talking up a storm about going on a roller coaster for the first time. He is just tall enough that he can go on them now.

It's always nice to see an update from you! :) I can't believe Valerie is already 5 months old!! It really doesn't seem like that much time has passed already! I hope your son has a great birthday and has a blast on his field trip to the amusement park! :)
