Valerie is 6 months old!

My baby girl is officially 6 months old today. Half of a year has passed since she was born. How in the world has it been 6 months already? Did it pass by while I was sleeping? Was weeks going by every time I blinked and I just didn't know it? Oi!

Valerie is still a screecher, although she has toned it down a couple of notches. She is babbling more than screaming now, and I swear she says a handful of words already. Mama, Dada, Bubba. I know it's just baby speak, but it is still the most adorable sounds ever. She is so close to crawling! She gets her knees up under her, and uses them to frog kick herself forward. She hasn't quite got her arms under her yet. She tries so hard, but usually ends up face planting into the floor. She's not sitting in her own yet, either. She gets too excited and starts kicking her chunky little legs and knocks herself over. (She has the chunkiest legs any of my babies ha e had and I am so in love with them! I love chunky babies!)

She likes being in her jumparoo, Walker, and play seat. Her favorite person is Daddy. Her eyes just light up when he's home and she gets the biggest smile when he walks into the room. She's always full of smiles when she first wakes up and when I get her out of bed, she puts her hand on my face and grins. She's a face explorer and loves touching everyone's face. (I blame my Dad and husband. They both have beards and she likes to wind her fingers in them.) Her favorite food is peas. She will seriously eat peas every meal, everyday if we let her. They give her terrible gas, however, so we do not let her eat them every meal. She does not like applesauce or oatmeal. If it has apples in it, she will just spit it back out. I don't know if it's a texture thing or what, but she does not like them. She eats baby food 3 times a day. I try to limit her to 1/2 jar at each feeding, but more times than not she will eat the whole jar followed by a 3oz bottle.

She doesn't have her 6 month appointment until June 7th, but if I had to hazard a guess, I'd say she's around 18lbs or so. I couldn't guess on height, but man is she tall. She's got that from her Daddy. I'm only 5ft5, so the height most definitely is not from me. Lol.

Anyways, here is a picture of her from last week. She's solidly in 6-9 month clothes now. I had to purge her 3-6. I'd say I wish she would stop growing, but I am thoroughly enjoying watching her grow and learn new things everyday. She's my last first everything, and I just want to soak it all up. I just want to wrap her and her brothers in my arms and never let them go.

*Update*
Valerie is 18lbs 14oz and 27.5 inches tall. She got a clean bill of health from the doctor, but she has to go to the eye doctor the 29th. It appears her left eye may be lazy, and her pediatrician wants to have it checked out. It may be nothing, and she could grow out of it, but better to be safe than sorry.

Pbc, it takes a lot of patience on my part to get her to wear them. She kept ripping them off at first, but now she likes them. (The headbands.) She was screaming this morning and I could not figure out why. I put a headband on her and she stopped and just started smiling real big. Lol.

Mal, Valerie does not like socks or shoes. If we go out, I have to wrap a blanket around her legs, put her in footed pants, or just let her go barefoot.

Pbc - you put shoes on your twins? I have yet to put a pair of shoes on Colton that will stay on lol. I give up and he goes everywhere in socks lol.

I think I decided last night when I was at Target, that Fiona just isn't going to be a headband kind of girl for a long time. I was looking at this cute set and then realized, why bother?! She is also getting to the stage of taking things off...her shoes, socks...Luckily I have one that works well for pictures and such. But when she gets long hair, she will be letting mommy play with it!

She's adorable and those legs are the cutest! So glad she's doing so well and enjoying baby food. Colton eats peas but you should see the faces he makes while eating them. I don't think he's quite sure about them lol.

I love her chunky legs! Lol. And Valerie is the same way with baby food. She ate an entire jar of peas the other day and almost an entire jar of bananas in one sitting, then took 2oz of formula as she was going to sleep directly after. She will easily eat about 5 jars a day, more if we let her. She's been in solids for 2 months now and she prefers them over the bottle now. And the hair bows! I love putting them on her! Lol. She doesn't wear them for very long and they usually end up down around her neck. (Loosely, and I never ever let her sleep with them on.) I have 2 shoe box sized totes full of headbands and 3 biw holders full of bows. Lol. I have some smaller headbands that have tiny bows on them if you want them. They are too small for V's big head. (She's seriously got a huge head.)

Ooooohhh those chunky legs! Oliver has those too and I love them so much. Fiona is just a skinny little thing. I think if I didn't stop her, Fiona would eat baby food until it made her sick. She can easily knock down a 4 oz jar! Valerie is just too cute and I love her hairbands/bows. I wish I could get them to stay on Fiona but they always come off her small head.
