Hospital stay after a bleed
By Toni192 » Posted Aug. 25, 2014 4:20pm - 469 views - 5 comments

Been having more and more spotting, mostly brown but sat night and sun morning it was red. Not a significant amount but I rang the hospital triage anyway for advice.

They called me straight in to get checked out, did bp, sample, pulse, heard baby's heartbeat and did an internal. Because of my grade 4 placenta praevia they decided to insert a canular and keep me 24 hours. Got a bit upset! Anyway hubbie brought a bag I'd given my mum a list of things.. Really wasn't prepared.. Of course he forgot a few essential things but that's men for you!

Then this morning after no more bleeding they decided to give me a steroid injection to prepare baby's lungs just in case and I have to go back tomoz morning to have another, in the bottom.. Really painful actually!

I'm really going to try and take it more easy so I don't end up on complete bed rest! No more hoovering! Hubbies going to have to pull his finger out!

I actually hold my breath when I go to the loo hoping there'll be nothing to see on my panty liner! It's been happening about twice a week this month but I don't worry if it's brown. Thanks ladies x

Hope all resolves and you feel better. That definitley is the scary thing about placenta previa, I hate having to check everytime I go to the bathroom to see if Im bleeding. Best of luck the baby stays put for another couple of weeks

Thanks, yes I'm hoping that's all that's needed to go at least to week 32! Hope you're spotting keeps under control too, they haven't suggested anything else you can do to keep baby in! Take care and good luck x

Hey, I hope resting is all you need and baby can cook for a much longer time! I have had spotting since 11.5 weeks and found out at 13 that I have placenta pre via too. Good luck!
