Look to the future

So Thea is 4 days old, I still can't believe she's here and with Christmas straight after I guess it's only just starting to sink in.
Her postnatal appointment on Christmas eve was great, she's perfectly healthy with no problems at all. Breastfeeding is going fine when she's not getting over excited and punching my boobs while I'm trying to get her latched although I'm sore and tired and Gary has nicknamed me 'the boob' when talking to Thea.
We are co sleeping as she really doesn't like the crib just yet and with a huge wind and rain storm last night, all four of us were covering the bed, the boys slept as I gave Thea a feed and it was so cozy (Gary on one side, Hunter stretched out across the foot of the bed under his douvet, Thea cuddled into me) that I could have sobbed with bliss.

Her first midwife appointment was yesterday and shes still in the perfect weight range yet with this head cold I can't really remember the figures.
Hunter seems to approve of her although he does ask us to turn her down when she cries, she really hates being naked and getting dressed.

I lost a stone just from birth which puts me only 8lbs from my pre pregnancy weight and now my appetite has gone nuts so I've pigged out over the last few days but heck, it's Christmas lol.

I'll have a Drs appointment coming up where they discuss contraception for the future and as some of you know I am a contented over 30 with no desire for another child or another vomit filled pregnancy. So I've been really looking into the best contraception and decided to ask for my tubes to be cut. Out of the blue on our way home from the postnatal check up hubby told me he's looked into it all and HES getting the op...
I'm a little shocked that he would do that for me as he said the risks associated with my operation are not worth it.
I'd never want or ask him to do something like that as I know for most guys the 'family jewels' area is a big deal. I've said that I wouldn't be happy until he's talked it through with the dr.

Finally, I'm just starting to realise how much in going to miss journaling with you ladies. I've seen you progress, shared your heartaches and celebrated your joys, talked through worries and bonded with so many of you that it seems weird to have to leave you. To come from CTP to here where I've excitedly logged in to see who gave birth or refreshed through the day to hear news of test results, gender reveals and baby arrivals. Now I have to head to the next phase alone (why isn't there a 'my baby' version of this site?) However I will stick around to see the January 2015 Baby Club come to term seeing as I hopped the fence into the December babies group lol and check then back in with you all to see how you are going.
Missing some of you already as you have already completed this step and have your hands full :)

Thank you to you all, thank you for sharing your joy and knowledge and making this rather solitary female feel like part of the gang.

Right I'm off to make a turkey sandwich.
Love to you all

She's so beautiful, you must be so proud! I'll miss you too; I checked up on you frequently throughout the months. It's okay that you're eating a lot, you still need extra calories and fluids to breastfeed. If you don't eat or drink enough your milk supply will dwindle. Congratulations on your beautiful birth and daughter, you are a very lucky woman. See you around;) Autumn

You took the words right out of my mouth lol. I feel the same, I'm going to miss a lot of the nice ladies I met here, especially you ;-)
Glad things are going well, again, congratulations!
