Baby girl is doing great!! Even though she was tiny, and early... she's gaining weight fast! We brought her home at 5lbs 2oz and she's now over 8lbs I do believe. She's extremely fussy with gas, and simethicone doesn't seem to work. EBF is going great!! She's staying to be more alert and looking around alot. I've gotten a few smiles, but not consistent yet. I'm really looking forward to the smiles and not so fussy because she can entertain herself OR her 3 year old brother cracking her up. He can't wait! He's pretty jealous and I can't wait until he starts school on Sept 10th. Preschool, here we come!!! Her older brothers just adore her!!! My precious baby girl!

I had a hard time for the first 6 wks with my first son 20 yrs ago - he was tongue tied and that wasn't found till week 4. Cried every time he latched on. But we corrected that, and the rest went great - nursed him till he was almost 3. I'm so glad you stuck with it. It's NOT easy, but so worth it. I need to look into that haakaa pump thingy because I'll have to go to work at 8-10 weeks too, and I'm unsure about how good my supply will be. I was never a milk cow. Always had to work at it before and I'm old now. You're my hero! I hope I pull through as well.

Calvingirl.... breastfeeding wasn't gumdrops and rainbows this time lol I had to visit a LC because lil miss was killing me. I dreaded her latching on, it was sooooo painful!! It's just now getting comfortable, nearly 6 weeks later. The hours of cluster feedings and crying... I almost gave up, but I didn't!! Now, you can see her chunking up!! I have a haakaa pump I use on my opposite boob while nursing, so in getting about 2-3oz a feeding that I'm storing for when I return to work. I've not even pumped yet lol. It's been difficult this time... no more pain when I shower and the water hits my nipples lol

Aww...she's so beautiful. I'm so happy she's thriving. Very good chance I'll be bringing home a small baby too, and also plan on BF'ing exclusively like I did with my son. It was one thing I miss the most from having a baby - that bond is so wonderful. Hope you are feeling better too? It's a no joke surgery you went through.
