Despite my efforts to increase my iron levels, they have slowly been going down at each check. I am not sure how serious of a problem this is. Anyone else have this problem? Any advice besides taking it with orange juice or increasing iron rich foods? They have now increased my dose of iron to 3 times a day plus my prenatal. Iron makes me feel like crap after I take it and I feel like it is for nothing.

Anyway, today I was checked and was 1 cm dilated & 50% effaced... I know that doesn't mean much haha. It could still take a long time, but that is way more progress than I made with my son who had to be induced so I am happy with it. Really hoping to go into labor on my own this time! I've been having more painful contractions lately so we will see.

Hope you all are doing well!!

No experience with low iron, but I'm glad it looks like you're making progress! Hoping you get the delivery you want this time

Thanks Star! Hoping I will be lucky enough to have a working epidural this time lol.

I am guessing that the lack of iron is the reason why I haven't felt good most of this pregnancy. I felt great the whole time I was pregnant with my first.
Dakota- that is a really good idea, I hadn't thought of it. I think I will ask for a sweep. Not sure how early they will do them. With my son I don't think they did it until I was already 40 weeks.

Ugh...I struggled with low iron with both my pregnancies. I totally feel your pain. I wish I had an easy solution for you. Good luck! Sounds like baby is slowly getting ready to make an entrance :)

This may seem stupid...or very obvious, depending how u view things, but try cooking in cast iron. The iron leaches into the food, esp foods that cook for longer (soups, stews, spag sauces etc) and increases blood iron levels by quite a bit (studies back this up). It's a great way to avoid or treat anemia. I love my iron pans! Almost everything u cook can be made in iron, and it cleans up better than non-stick pans. It's def not cheap, but they will outlive u and ur children if u take care of them. Just a suggestion!

Hopefully u go into labour without induction. I feel for ya, I was induced with the other 3...it sucks ass! Ask if they'll strip ur membranes a cpl times before jumping to drugs. It's hit or miss with a sweep, but worth a try, imo.

Hang in there! =))
