Last BETA/HCG Result
By MalPal85 » Posted 24 weeks ago - 496 views - 6 comments

My last BETA/HCG result came in today.

Here's the breakdown:
12/17/18 - 141
12/19/18 - 410
12/21/18 - 956
12/28/18 - 6,995

Ultrasound is scheduled for 1/3/19 at 10:10am, of course, in another location that is far as hell away but they couldn't get me into my normal location until the following week and I can't wait that long lol and they said they would prefer to do the ultrasound next week anyways.

I am scared sh!tless! I hope there is a little baby brewing in my uterus when I look at that screen. Brewing...obviously I really want a beer ;-).

I must admit, I am also scared. Had pretty bad PPD/PPA with Colton and I really do not want to go through that again. Hard to admit it, but there it is. Please don't take that the wrong way though. I wouldn't change a thing (except talking to my doctor sooner) and our "little" man is the cutest, sweetest, most polite boy.

When I have my normal ~8 week appointment with my doctor there will be 3 main concerns/thoughts that I will address (please no judgment):

1) Please put me back on my generic Zoloft for precautionary measures.
2) I am not breastfeeding and you cannot make me! I think that is how my PPD/PPA started. He wouldn't latch so I would pump, pump & pump with nothing to show for it except sore tits and a drop of milk.
3) Discuss tying my tubes while they're in there assuming I need another C-section as we have always agreed to be a family of 4 (plus a fur baby) at max (just our personal choice).

Symptoms (not all at the same time): 1) Sore Breasts/Nips 2) Headache 3) Fatigue 4) Occasional Body Achiness 5) Weird Uterus Sensations (kind of a pulling feeling).

Please wish me luck at this ultrasound and send good vibes my way!

Thanks girls! Sandy, proactive (or crazy if you want to call it that) is my middle name, haha. Thanks for the support!
Amanda, Thanks! glad to know I'm not alone. I'm hoping I'm ok with the second like you!
Renae, Thanks for the support! Zoloft made me feel kind of out of it too until I got used to it but when I went off of it I didn't really have any side effects. I'm going to ask about different medications just to make sure my bases are covered.
Lindsey, I wish we lived closer and could get together! I'm hoping I can get my sh!t together and really enjoy the first few months with this new one so I know what I was missing out on with Colton. Your twins are adorable as well!

I think going in knowing what to expect regarding PPA/PPD is a blessing! I often get sad knowing I'll never experience the newborn phase where I am not freaking out or worrying about everything. I'm all for being proactive on that front. Breastfeeding was something that fed into my PPD. Most time I tried to pump I didn't even get a damn drop!AHHHHHH. You are sooo right about Colton...he is the cutest! I think him and Ollie would be fast friends! I'm going to be stalking you. I am having baby fever and need to live vicariously through someone else. :)

Do not be ashamed of PPD/PPA! I knew something was off the day after I had Chase. My anxiety got worse and worse during our hospital stay and I shivered uncontrollably every time someone came to visit or the baby cried. I straight up asked my doctor for medicine and they have me a Zoloft. That just made me feel like a zombie, like totally disconnected and so so sleepy, so she gave me lexapro instead and it worked beautifully. I stayed on it till I went back to work and got into a good routine and then I could feel I didn't need it anymore. I'm definitely going to ask for it next time because I really felt like I missed out on so much joy right after he came because I had so much anxiety.

As far as your beta, I think it looks great!! I looked back at mine and you started a couple points behind me, but you're already way ahead of where I was at the same point! I think this baby is just fine! Can't wait to see your ultrasound on Wednesday!!!!

So exciting!!!!!

As far as ppd/ppa, you KNOW what to look for now. So you are more aware of what is happening. I had it so bad after my oldest was born. It lasted almost 2 whole years. Didn't have it all when my second was born. And then had it bad again after my third and final baby. Like, was so scared to leave my house bad. But..you know to be on the look out now. And I can not stress enough how important it is that you be in top of it. (Which I know you are!) Don't be afraid to tell your doctor. "Hey, look. This is what's up." You are your best advocate.

And I agree with dakotagurrl. You don't need luck. You got this. ?

U don't need luck, everything is gonna be just fine!!! =))

As for ur thoughts/concerns, u do what u gotta do to take care of u and ur family. It isn't a "one size fits all" mold. I think it's great that ur being proactive instead of waiting til ur so far in a hole that u can't see a way out. U recognize what can happen again and u wanna nip it in the bud. Shamelessly nip away...it's a smart decision. =))
