Pregnancy Sciatica anyone?
By ch3rrypie11 » Posted Dec. 16, 2015 4:31pm - 419 views - 5 comments

Ugh so on top of hypertension, heartburn, headaches nausea and dizziness I now have a severe case of sciatica running down my left butt cheek. The pain sometimes is so sharp and intense I scream out loud if I move a certain way. I read it can be brought on by pregnancy usually in the third trimester if the baby is pressing down on the pelvis a certain way which I assume is my case. I never had issues before. I am stubborn and really don't want to take Tylenol. I take so much already with my bp pills, iron supplements, prenatal and baby asprin so I try to tough it out but I sometimes can't even move. I hope it goes away after she is born. Has anyone else had this? I have my 32 week appointment with my OB tomorrow and my 32 week growth scan ultrasound on Friday with the high risk dr! this is my last one and then weekly I start seeing the high risk Dr for some other ultrasound. I forget the name of it but they check the breathing and fluid and movement of the baby's chest. I have almost fainted twice this week so that has definitely gotten worse. We shall see if I make 39 weeks!

The pillow at night helps a lot. Just wish I could somehow have it walking around all day lol. It stinks it goes down to your knee sometimes. It's crippling just through my hip and butt. Hopefully it doesn't spread further down as I get further along

Yes, I have it on my right side with this pregnancy! So painful. I try to make sure i sleep with a pillow between my knees and stretch it out by putting my ankle on my opposite thigh (or as close to my thigh as i can get 34 weeks in) while laying down. It feel so horrible, all the way down to my knee on some days. I hope the rest of your symptoms get better!

I had this with my first pregnancy. It was excruciating!! I thought I'd never be able to move the same way again. It will definitely get better after your little one arrives.

I can't say I have experienced what you have but I wish there was something better to take than Tylenol. It didn't do much for me while pregnant. I hope these last weeks go by quickly so you can get some relief from your symptoms!
