1st OB Appointment

Like the title says, today I saw my OB/gyn. Peed in a cup, had ultrasound, pap smear and talked to the doctor.
The ultrasound was AMAZING! Their equipment is SO much better than my RE's. And best of all, the baby was moving around and even waved at us! I nearly cried because it looks like a baby now and not just a little blob. I told the technician that the only other time I have nearly cried was when we first found the heartbeat, but that I came even closer to crying today. It just seems so much more real seeing an actual baby on the screen. It was so beautiful and amazing. We got 4 pictures back, including one of those high resolution ones. (4D or something? IDK) It's heart rate was still good at 172.
My OB is so happy for me. She was with me when I went through my first miscarriage. She is referring me to a specialist to help with my diabetes and high risk stuff. I don't know what his title officially is. I see the OB again in 4 weeks. She also said it was entirely possible that my spotting was because of constipation and recommended I start taking Colace. She said everything looks good. So the specialist I will be seeing pretty often according to my OB and I don't care. I will do whatever it takes to make sure this baby has the best chance. Being diabetic makes things more complicated and pregnancy makes pre-existing diabetes harder to manage so I will be glad for the help.

Oh, and we've given the baby a nickname. Yesterday my app I use called "The Bump" told me the baby was the size of a tater tot and my husband and I both loved that--so the baby is "Tater tot." :)

Thank you all for the prayers and good thoughts. Please keep them coming! We appreciate them!

Love the nickname! We call my oldest Tater, but not tater tot, so I love it :). More good news it’s always such a little miracle seeing that life inside isn’t it? I never get used to it!

Everyone except my youngest step-son is pulling for girl! :) (Even me!) But no, I don’t really “feel” either way yet. Leaning toward girl though! :)
