Hi everyone! Sorry my last journal was kind of "pity party"-ish. I just really struggled the last 3 weeks. DH went on a business trip that was optional after I begged him not to. My 3 step-kids are difficult when he is home and are nightmares when he isn't. And the 2 youngest seemed to "step-up" the crazy. My Mom said she has new understanding of my anxiety after staying with me and seeing what the kids really act like. And it is doctor appointment season for the kids when they have check ups, eye doctor, dentist, etc. And the youngest has baseball and has suddenly begun to throw tantrums AT baseball games. So it was non-stop with them. And my Mom, while here to help, is disabled and is only able to do so much physically to help me and the kids were certainly not about to help. They were AWFUL. Anyway, DH finally got home Saturday. He had initially planned to not be home until yesterday but after the way the kids acted he hurried home. I am SO glad he's back. I had help this morning getting the kids off to school! Yea!
Pregnancy is going well. I finally worked it out so that the MFM gave me back a little insulin. I take 3 units with lunch and 2 with dinner. It's not much, but it is wiggle room. And my blood sugars have been excellent. No lows, but no highs either. And they aren't swinging up and down--nice and steady. I'm beginning to show ever so slightly. Still haven't felt Maggie kick yet, but I know with her being my first that it could be a while. I break out the home doppler once in a while. (Maybe like once a week) I listened to her last week and you could hear her moving and then I found her heartbeat. Last night I found her heartbeat right away. My doppler isn't registering the heart rate yet I think because I have so much "fluff" between the doppler and Maggie, so I don't panic over that. Thursday I go back to the OB. I know what to expect and I appreciate that. Assuming no problems I will just have her heartrate checked via doppler. Then Friday I go back to the MFM. I will see her that day. They are doing a full ultrasound supposedly. DH will go with me Friday and see her for the first time in 4 weeks.
I'm making progress on baby stuff. I have a crib and bassinet that was used for the 3 other kids. We got her bedding, a new glider and some decorations. She has quite a few clothes. My parents bought her a dresser. I'm going this week to pick out paint for the nursery then we can decorate. I've got a bunch of other baby stuff too, too much to list. I want to just be left stocking up on hygiene, medicine and diapers by the mid-3rd trimester. (And of course still cute baby clothes!)
I'll update again Thursday/Friday. :)
I hope you are doing well!

Thank you! I really love being pregnant, other than the constant worry that comes after miscarriages and no live births. But the closer we get to viability, the better I feel. These 16 weeks have flown by, even the last 3. So I can’t imagine how fast time will feel after 20 weeks!

So glad the hubby is back and you have some help. And super happy about the insulin, so hopefully a cookie i's not out of the question now! After 20 weeks it just starts to go by so fast!
