SECOND PRENATAL APPOINTMENT

FEBRUARY 27, 2020
Today we had our 2nd appointment and of course I had Nana come with because I was nervous. When we arrive, they check my weight and to my surprise I've lost 3 pounds since the last appointment 2 weeks ago. The doctor then comes in and asks how my blood sugar levels are and they're great, I just need to make sure they stay that way. He asks if I'm ready to hear your heartbeat and of course I say, "Yes". Well I lay down and he's searching and searching but can't find anything and he then says he's going to get the portable ultrasound machine. When he leaves I turn to Nana, my mom, and say, "this is when I get scared" I take a deep breath and try to stay calm. When he arrives he puts the wand on my belly and there you are tucked really low in my pelvis. The doctor points and says, "see that right there," and it's your little heart beating, 169bpm, such a lovely sound. Our next Appoinment is in 12 days.
