I've gotten so far behind on my journal! Well, things seem to be going just perfectly. We had our third appointment on Friday, at 16w6d. Baby's heartbeat was very easy to find and definitely louder than four weeks ago, and my fundus measured 17.5. As everyone else probably understands, I have my hands on my belly a lot. Well a few days before I had noticed a hard spot, almost like a big lump sometimes, especially in the morning. I thought it was the "edge" of my uterus or something, and had vaguely wondered why sometimes it felt more distinct than other times. It was there when she checked me Friday - turns out it's the baby's head! That really makes things feel tangible. Because of how distinct it was, the midwife guessed my placenta is posterior. As for movement, I sometimes wonder if baby is moving, but haven't felt anything definitive. Every time I think maybe I feel something, I focus on it and then all I can feel is my own heartbeat. I think it's pretty cool that the blood flow to the uterus is so rich that I can feel it pulsing with my heart. Overall I feel amazing, I'm in awe of this miracle that my body can grow and provide for a new life!
