In the words of Rachel from "Friends": Get out Get out GET OUT!
I. Am. Miserable.
Mr. Chub Cheeks dropped on Friday in, of course, an overly dramatic, epic, fashion. I can tell you the TIME it happened. One minute I was mildly uncomfortable, the next I thought I was dying and going into labor. The pain from him dropping has been non-stop since. If I'm sitting, I can deal. If I keep moving, I can deal. If I switch from one to the other, I'm dead. It hurts so incredibly bad. Switching positions in bed takes help from Pumba on the nights he's home...and when he's at work, I'm a turtle and stuck.
The GOOD news:
Chance is exactly where he needs to be for the ball to start rolling. He's engaged but I have very little effacement to speak of and I'm only a fingertip dilated. My cervix has definitely dropped quite a bit and is softer. He's still doing perfectly. Heart rate is great, moving like he should, practice breathing like a champ, and still measuring a week and a half ahead. I'm expecting to hear that he is about 7.5lbs next Wednesday.
What this little stinker has been up to:
He has taken to what feels like SCRATCHING me from the inside out. It's a horrific feeling. I didn't realize they could but, they can. My replacement at work told me how her first child literally scratched her way out. Because she had hair, she would scratch her head and in turn would scratch the membrane of the amniotic sack. After so long, the sack gave way and her water broke. Talk about ALIEN in real life. He also likes to stretch as far as he can without making me puke. I'm betting he'll be 21 almost 22 inches at this rate. He did behave for this last BPP and didn't cover his face. Everytime I see his little face on the screen I swear he looks just like his father. Chub cheeks, cute slightly upturned nose, all of it. Pumba thinks babies look like potatoes. Whatever LOL
The family and friends have bets going on when I'll actually have him and everyone says next week. I'm 100% okay with this.
We had our trial run on April 29th when we thought my water broke. I woke up in a puddle of colorless, odorless fluid. By puddle I mean like, 2 ft in diameter. The swab tested negative though. No clue what it could have been since I was feeling pretty dehydrated that weekend (i.e. my pee was super yellow and smelly).
Anywho, we're trucking along. Pumba is well aware that I will be using him and his "little friend" as my own personal pogo stick to get this train rolling. I'm ready to meet my little man, and so is he.
Hope you ladies are doing well!! I'm hoping my next journal will include pictures of little man!

If I sat down for a few min he was at it LOL He kick after he came out too LOL Never could have him sleep with me after a certain time he kicked and rolled a lot. best of luck with this one. I'm laughing so hard over here--I'm going to do the same thing to my husband after 37 weeks, which he probably won't mind considering I was on pelvic rest when I had the SCH and the previa. I'll be stalking for your birth announcement and wishing you a smooth delivery! |
