Thank you, nice coworker for pointing that out. Lol. She meant it as a compliment as she is also pregnant. But sheesh.

Last night at my appointment my midwife scolded me about my eating habits and weight gain again. (37 lbs at 36.5 weeks) She is concerned that baby is getting too big, and that I might have trouble delivering. She wants me to cut ALL CARBS from my diet. I have explained to her in the past that I cannot do that as I have IBS. A diet that is mostly veggies and meat makes me sick to the point that I can't get out of the bathroom. Lol. She's also anti-gluten. And super into herbal remedies. And that's just not me. She wants me to do lots of cardio so I can have a muscular skinny baby. But I can't because it causes me to have terrible BH contractions that last hours and keep me from sleeping at night. Anyway...

My MIL, on top of every thing, is convinced I am going to give birth to a 9+lbs baby as my husband was 9+lbs. She made sure to tell me that last night. Gee, thanks!

I'm sure I'm going to be fine, and that baby's gonna be fine. But now I'm starting to doubt myself and get annoyed. I want baby to stay put for at least another couple weeks. But I'm gonna go ahead and start red raspberry leaf capsules and evening primrose oil, and stepping down the magnesium just in case.

*P.S. -- My BP, blood sugar, platelets, iron, level of swelling, and other physical indicators have been great at every appointment. And fundal height is on point.

Let me get this straight... you have gained a TOTAL of 37lbs during pregnancy so far? And you're already at 36.5 wks? I think that is great! I gained like 65 with both my kids (some due to a lot of prednisone I had to take during pregnancy) and my OB said I was just fine. I think it is a little extreme to make drastic changes in diet and exercise this late in pregnancy too. If all of your results and measurements look a-ok I say keep doing what is working well.

Ugh my MIL was convinced that our kids were basically going to be clones of my husband - no hair, x pounds, all that. It was as if I contributed nothing of my own genes into our children. I felt super smug when our daughter came out with a thick, full head of hair -- just like her mama had! LOL.
