8 Weeks! Ultrasound and bleeding
By ericalee2 » Posted Aug. 14, 2018 8:13pm - 367 views - 4 comments

I decided to create a separate account for this pregnancy since I hate how CMP deletes everything from your previous baby. Boo! I haven't saved off all my journal entries from my pregnancy with my son and didn't want to lose that.

So far this pregnancy has been SO different than either of my pregnancies with my two children. First off --- no crazy med schedules. We have been going with fate a lot for this baby since we don't have the insurance to cover all my extensive lab testing, infusions, etc. My OB did help me out big time by following some of the bare bones of my immune protocol - estradiol, progesterone, prednisone, baby aspirin. But that is it! THe other huge difference is I feel like crap most days. I mean, holy shit. I never had nausea with any pregnancy before, but now I am basically nauseous from 11a until I go to bed. It's not so fabulous. There are very few things I can fathom eating and they mostly involve salt and vinegar. Vegetables and carbs are generally ok. Fruit is hit or miss and meat is a rarity. Eggs are the only exception on that one. It has been difficult to figure out what to eat each day, that's for sure. Woof.

We just got back from a week long vacation in Lake of the Ozarks with both my parents and my husband's. We haven't told anyone yet because I had only had a 6 week ultrasound prior to the trip and we didn't feel confident enough to tell anyone. It was very tough to try to hide the fact that I wanted to gag at the sight and thought of most of the food that was being made, not to mention having to pretend to have cocktails. Gotta love those mocktails!! and pretending to sip a glass of wine.

Yesterday was our first day back and baby decided to add a little drama to my life by causing my lady parts to bleed. Red blood. Not bright bright red, but red nonetheless. Once night rolled around it was all brown, which made me feel better. I didn't have any cramping or anything, but I immediately hit the couch and did a lot of relaxing. Thankfully today was the day of our scheduled first OB appt with an ultrasound included. Once I told them I had been bleeding they paused on doing all the genetic questions and we did the u/s first. Obviously I was pretty nervous. Six miscarriages will do that to a person. Got that little wand up in my business and before I could even focus on it my OB says "look at that perfect heartbeat!". Instant relief. Baby was measuring great with a heart rate of 188bpm. PERFECT. So relieved.

I go back in 2 weeks for a doppler to check the heart rate and hopefully everything will be uneventful until then. :)

I'm praying for you and this little one as well. So far they seem like quite a fighter! I had terrible nausea form 6 weeks to about 13 weeks. I never threw up but food was difficult and the nausea was overwhelming at times. Now I just get nausea if I don't eat anything for two long. Baby counts over two hours as to long.... Anyways I just wanted to say that hard boiled eggs during the day were a good snack for me earlier on and help get more protein in. I also found frozen or cold food to help as well. I'm a big fan of frozen mango chunks but if fruit is hit or miss then it might not work for you. Some say to try eating some crackers or small snack before you get out of bed in the morning but I found this to make my nausea worse. Good luck and I can't wait to hear your update in two weeks!

Also you can get back to all your previous babies through the Manage My Account. Click on the My Pregnancies and then choose which one you want to view. It's not very intuitive but works.
