Ah...so this is the real culprit behind all the bleeding. A subchorionich hemorrhage 11.4cm long, 6cm wide... Great. Just when I thought things were manageable. The only positive thing about this? It's on the opposite side of my placenta. So freaking scared.

Comment from themasuokas » Posted Aug. 16, 2011 10:03pm Not sure what causes it...but it's a big pocket of blood between the wall of the uterus and the amniotic sack. It could have been from a tear in the placenta at one point...and the placenta grew away from that. The bleeding started at 13 weeks, 5 days...and hasn't let up since. Lots of spotting brown and occasionally red. I just hope I make it to 26 weeks... :( The big danger? Too much exposure to blood will weaken the uterine sack, causing it to rupture prematurely. | |
