Contractions
By babylove14 » Posted Jun. 4, 2018 6:32pm - 402 views - 7 comments

I keep having regular contractions. They've been 2-3 minutes apart for a few hours then go away. They aren't strong. Some are uncomfortable but I wouldn't call them painful. It does remind me of pre labor with my son. That was the only natural labor I've had to compare it to since my other two were inductions. This happened daily with him leading up to his birth. I'm wondering if I'm gearing up for labor already. And if I am, is that concerning 6 weeks before my due date? With my son that didn't start until around 37wks and he was born at 39wks. I do the whole lie on your left side, drink water etc and it doesn't stop them. I will see what my doctor says tomorrow. I have another growth ultrasound in the morning. Hopefully things continue to go well. This is the point where my blood pressure starts rising and/or other complications start to show.

You're right. I need to remember every pregnancy is different. I'm used to contracting constantly but my cervix not changing at all from my first 3 babies but I shouldn't assume this one is the same. Thanks for sharing/the advice!

I went in when I woke up and was having contractions about every 30 minutes and they admitted me right away because I was already dilated to a 3 by the time I got there but I also hadn’t felt the baby move in 24 hours so they were concerned so just be aware and don’t take any chances! Better safe than sorry :)

Did you go in immediately? And did they admit you or did you get sent home and came back when they got worse?

I did think of that. I was stalling because it was midnight. My husband was at work and I'd have to get the kids out of bed. Obviously mine and babies health is first priority but I didn't want to get them up for a false alarm. I've only had 2 contractions today and since I already have an appt tomorrow I figured I would just see my doctor tomorrow instead of going to l&d. I am starting to worry though since it's happened twice. If it happens again, I'll go in. I don't want to keep writing it off as practice labor and let it progress into full blown labor.

Not to scare you but I started with regular contractions at 34 weeks with my son that weren’t very painful mostly uncomfortable and he was born 12 hours later! Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to go in and make sure everything is ok!
