So I saw my doctor today. We discussed the specialized follow-up I was going to require for this pregnancy. For my son I was sent to Genetics, and they were the ones to request a Level 2 ultrasound and a fetal MRI. At first my doctor was just going to request a Level 2 ultrasound for me, but when I asked whether she was going to send me to Genetics, she changed her mind and said yes, she was going to. She would like to know how the risk associated with this pregnancy, which follow a normal pregnancy, differ from the risk that was associated with my second pregnancy, which followed an abnormal one. I don't think it changes anything as we were told the risk was between "low" and 25%, which leaves a lot of room for a normal pregnancy. But anyway. We'll see. I should get a call to set up an appointment within the next couple of days.
So the next milestone finally is the NT scan, next week. Things have changed in my doctor's practice since last year - when I was pregnant with my son, she calculated the due date based purely on LMP, unless an ultrasound showed a 10-day difference. Now apparently there have been studies showing that women tend to give birth on a date that matches more closely the due date calculated according to scans, so my doctor will change my due date according to what the NT scan shows next week. Oddly enough, though she only uses the first scan to calculate the due date...
Other than that, fatigue has increased in the last few days, and I find it depressing. How does it get worse at 11 weeks? What if I'm stuck with this fatigue until the end?
