I realize now I haven't written an entry when I finally got the official word that the first ultrasound was normal.

I waited the full 7-10 working days like a good girl and then called the clinic to check. It turns out they had received the results a full week before and well, my doctor simply didn't think to have the receptionnist call me. Which is understandable, I know she's busy, and I know doctors do not call their patients unless something is wrong. It's just that she had promised me she'd think to call. When I was pregnant with my son, she had said she'd "try" to think about it and she called me for every single result she got. This time around, she promised she'd call, adding that when she was my name, bells rang in her head. So I was very disappointed that I had not gotten a phone call about my ultrasound.

I had an appointment with her the following week, and didn't mention that to her. I felt it would not have been fair.

And then last night, lo and behold, the phone rang during dinner time and it was my doctor. Actually her, not the receptionnist. My heart freaking SANK, because doctors only call themselves when something is wrong, right? And then she said: "So I just wanted to let you know I got your IPS results, and they're negative! You're under 1 in 10 000. I saw your name and thought I'd call you, I figured you'd be happy if I did."

So there is it, she's completely made up for the fact that she forgot for my ultrasound. I am still in shock she bothered to call herself!

In other news, I finally got my appointment for my Level 2 ultrasound: it will be on January 7. I'm terrified something will be wrong now that we've announced to our families, friends and coworkers. This bit of the pregnancy is always hard, because I have no clue what to expect, and at the same time, I keep thinking of the first pregnancy. I am only 4 days away from the point I was at when we TFMR'ed. It's easier this time around because I do have a positive experience (and a normal scan) to rely on, but still. I can't see how I could go through that again.

On that (happy ;)) note, I wish you all happy holidays in case I don't update before the New Year, which is very possible!
