On May 13, 2013 at 4 weeks 4 days pregnant
Repeat Beta HCG
Repeat Beta HCG is 1093!!! Wahoo! The levels are doubling a little faster than Dr. Smith anticipated so she has scheduled me for an Ultrasound this Friday MAy 17th:) Can't wait...Wonder if you could be twins???? I am having fun teasing daddy about it but we are both very happy and relieved to know that you are growing growing and growing. We can't wait to see you on Friday! GG is coming too...Nana can't because she has to work:( but she wants lots of pictures!
I am already talking and patting you! I love you so much!!!
Poppy and granny are super excited too! Poppy has already priced diapers at the commisary! $20 for a big box! Poppy also said "Love you Sug" :) hearts! Poppy must really be over the moon because he never says "Love You"

Announced Pregnancy to Family
Today is Mother's Day. (Your Aunt Valerie's first mothers day!) The family gathered here at our house..GG, Poppa (his birthday is the 15th), Uncle Zeb (His birthday is the 13th), Aunt Valerie, Nana, Aunt Nancy, Uncle Vince, Aunt Anita, Grant, and Meredith.

We put a honey bun cake in the oven and asked Nana to "check on something I had in the oven." She opened it up and read the cake and Nana and Aunt Anita said that's cute...Zeb and Valerie saw it and with huge smiles said "oh my gosh it's a baby!!!"
Nana looked around and said with tears coming down her face "somebody hold this so I can get a hug"
GG and poppa already knew but thats a different story...
GG, and Aunt Nancy were crying also! We then snapped some pics and sent them to Ashley, Amanda, Liz and Frankie! Everyone was so happy, Amanda was balling on the phone:) and Frankie just kept texting me messages! It was wonderful!

First Ultrasound
On Tuesday the 7th I broke out in a terrible itchy rash (that started on my left butt cheek), and ran a high fever. Dr. Smith scheduled me an appt for today. Your daddy came with me. Dr.Smith comes in and says that two office UPT's are neg., Ultrasound shows a very thick lining but that is all:( 10 min. later Dr. Smith comes back in and says UPT's are positive!!!!!! I must be very early with You! She sends me for beta HCG and it's 211 repeat is on Monday May 6th!!!! Your daddy and I are very happy but worried at the same time. Monday is forever away! We just need to know the numbers are climbing up!

Told My Boss About My Pregnancy
Well My boss is Susan, one of my best friends! I am working night shift. I fill out a Vacation Request form and for the dates mark Jan-March 2014 :)!!!!! I leave it on her desk for to find the next morning!
She comes in my office around 8:00 while I am giving cahrge report and sits and waits for me to finish. She has a huge grin!
She gives me a hug and says well I guess a congratulations are in order!

First Positive Pregnancy Test
For the first time I am able to hold my pee for greater than four hours! So first thing when I wake up I run to the bathroom and pee in a cup. I pull up my pants and flush and wash my hands. I am staring at the stick and I THINK i see a faint pink line. I hold the stick up to the light, mind racing and keep asking myself "Is it really there? or am I just wanting to see it"
Your daddy is on the couch watching football (of course) I come running out shoving the stick at him, grinning a very big silly grin, jump on the couch and ask do you see it? How many lines do you see? Am I crazy or do you see it? Daddy takes the stick and says "What am I looking at, I see one dark pink line and one super faint pink line..What does that mean and now I am jumping up and down, grinning and saying "I think we're pregnant" Daddy "are you for real with the biggest smile every and pulls me into his lap, gives me a huge bear hug and kiss

Definitely UTI!!
I spent all day in urgent care with Mom. When I say ALL day I mean like 6hrs. Tests confirm UTI, I don't want to tell Mom yet that I could be preggers but I have to because the doctor wants me to take Cipro which can be harmful to babies in the first trimester. Dr. Burgis says my UPT is negative and that I need to take it because most UTI are resistant to other abx. I ask her to find another one that is safe in case I am preggers, and to please send a culture for resistance. Boy am I glad I trusted my motherly instincts because first thing tomorrow morning I get a postive UPT!!!!!

UTI????
Woke up at 0500 to go pee, which never happens. I bump around and finally find the toilet in the dark. I pee and man does it burn!!! I think I have a UTI...it would be the first one in over 8yrs. I wonder if I could be pregnant....??? I think I remember something from nursing school where UTI are some womens earliest preggers sign! Fingers crossed and lots of prayers!
