Picked a Name
We thought we had a few more weeks to ponder a name for our princess. She had other plans of course. Baby Girl Love became Kenzi Love Snyder on March 20th (just before I was discharged from the hospital).

Went Into Labour
3/17/2014 I go to the Dr.s office because of what I thought were complications with the UTI I had. After taking the antibiotics I felt worse than when I started them. I also mentioned to the Dr. I had some leakage so they did some testing to check the amniotic fluid and the baby's vitals. Everything turned out fine, the ultrasound showed I had plenty of amniotic fluid and the babyâ??s vitals were all normal. That night I go to bed in a little discomfort but nothing alarming. Around 2:30am I wake up in a pool of wetness. I run to the bathroom unable to stop the leakage, I mean itâ??s a steady stream from bed to toilet. I sit there frustrated with myself wondering if I damaged my bladder with the UTIâ??s Iâ??ve been having. I thought I had a weakened bladder and I would have that problem the rest of my life. I was feeling pretty upset with myself to say the least. I throw a load of laundry in the washer, put new sheets on the bed and go back to sleep.

Started Wearing Maternity Clothes
I don't have much in way on clothes to begin with, especially going out clothes. I have mostly lounge wear and sweats and I don't go out to the store in those. So yesterday when we went shopping ( looking for maternity bras mostly) I wore one of the maternity shirts I got for Christmas. Would you believe there is no place close to buy maternity clothes here? We hit every single clothing store we could find and no maternity. I went home and looked up where to buy them and we'd have to go to St. George or buy online. After looking at the prices I decided to take my chances with buying from Walmart online. I hope beyond all hope that the sizes are right and I like them. I hate buying clothes and I especially hate buying them online. Oh yeah we also finally got a carpet shampooer I've been wanting for for the past 2 years. We decided on the Bissell Lift-Off Delux Pet (for the portability option).

Announced Baby's Gender to Family
After months of trying to figure out how I was going to reveal the gender, this is what I came up with. A Christmas gender scratch off card. The idea I has was just basic like the Santa one shown. I ran the idea by Scott and he liked it but suggested taking it a step further like the tree one shown. So the Santa was for extended family and friends and the tree was for immediate family. Because we weren't finding out the gender for ourselves until just before Christmas I made up two versions of the two cards. I put all versions on a flash drive and took them with me to the ultrasound appointment. After we found out the gender and on the way home we stopped at Staples to get the correct cards printed along with 5 copies of one of the ultrasound pictures. After getting it all back home I spent the rest of the night putting the scratch off area on the cards and making ornaments with the US pic. Got them all in the mail for a Christmas day reveal. Everyone loved the idea.

Felt My Baby Move for the First Time
At the time I didn't know that is what it was. After talking with my mom, mother in law and a few others I'm sure that is what it was now.
So it happened when I was relaxing in the bath trying to regroup after a couple of hectic days getting the gender reveal cards together along with the ultrasound ornaments and all the Christmas gifts off in the mail. I drew my bath with my lavender bath salts (mmmmm lavender) and laid back on my super awesome soft bath mat with built in pillow and just let go of the tension I was carrying. A few minutes later I felt this flutter in my lower right abdomen. It was almost as if I could picture little fingers or toes trying to tickle me from the inside. The incident stuck with me though because it was a different feeling that I have never felt before. A few days later I was talking to my mom about it and she said that was the baby moving and I would continue to feel that more often now. So now that feeling is embedded in my memory bank.

Found Out Baby's Gender
Had been planning a Christmas gender reveal for a month so when it came time for the ultrasound to find out for ourselves I was a bit nervous that things wouldn't go as planned. The night before and the morning of the ultrasound, I told the baby to cooperate. Everything went great, when the technician said it was a girl I think my heart skipped a beat or two. She assured us that there was no doubt about it, it was a clear "textbook" shot of a girl. Of course Scott's first comment was now we have to watch out for hundreds of boys instead of just one. The technician tried to get a good picture of her face but she didn't want to cooperate anymore, she just wanted to snuggle up against the placenta. Which was cute but it would have been nice to get a real good picture. We have one that is good enough and I'm happy with that.

Announced Pregnancy to Friends
Since Scott was off today I waited a day to announce the news to friends, just in case we got phone calls. I sent out the same email as I sent to the family where I could and sent the link to the video via facebook to those I don't have email for or if I thought they'd check that before email. We got a lot of replies and well wishes and congrats.

Announced Pregnancy to Family
I sent out several emails with the youtube link (http://youtu.be/-FHzB9ifENk) on a picture.
I wanted to make sure both of us were here to receive a phone call from our immediate families. There was a small of opportunity for that this afternoon because Scott had to get off to work. It is so hard doing this long distance, I can't see the reactions to the news. I'm sure many didn't expect to ever hear this kind of news from us. At least we got to hear the reactions via phone. There were a lot of laughs and jokes and congratulations. I still have more announcements to send out but they will have to wait until tomorrow. I only need to send 3 more out that requires us both to be here. It is such a relief to be able to tell everyone. I know my mom and Marie are glad they don't have to keep the secret any longer.

Heard Baby's Heartbeat for the First Time
Even though I heard the heartbeat at 6 weeks, it was so week (119 bpm) I don't really think of it as the regular heartbeat.

This appointment though the hb was much stronger and faster at 167 bpm. It's such a peaceful feeling knowing that swooshing beating pattern is coming from a being growing inside of me. Relying on me for nutrients and a safe little cocoon of sorts in order to grow.

First Prenatal Appointment
The first appointment wasn't supposed to be until 10 weeks but the nausea and weakness was so bad I went in early. I was having dreams of miscarriage and tubal pregnancy and with the pains I was having I was afraid that was the case. I was having bad cramp pains in my lower right abdomen every time I sat up, walked or twisted. Then I was getting dizzy when I stood up more frequently so I got even more paranoid.

He took a urine sample because I had that bad uti earlier. They thought maybe the increased nausea was from remnants of the uti (bacteria).

He ordered blood work to find out my blood type (I can't believe I don't already know that) and he prescribed progesterone.

Got home and had an extremely painful bowel movement. Then I remembered that's what started this. I was told to take an enema and milk of magnesia. That definitely worked to clear out the blockage.

Dr. said the pregnancy is fine and normal. Size matches how far along I am and hb is 119/min

Told Husband/Partner
I don't know how I managed to keep myself busy until Scott got home, but I did. I decided to wrap the test as a gift to tell him. I used the box the oven ignitor came in, it was a perfect fit. I taped the instructions on the underside of the top cushion jic he wasn't sure how to read it.

I'm not entirely sure what he thinks. His response was "well, we got that extra room" He also asked if that's why I think I've been having so much trouble this month, I told him prolly so.
Of course it didn't take him long to start with the jokes.
