Husband/Partner Felt Baby Move for the First Time
Lentil was kicking pretty strong for quite a while during the day while Steven was resting for work this evening. I woke him up. He fell asleep right after he felt it, but he woke up and asked if it was a dream or real. He was really happy when he found out it was real.

Felt My Baby Move for the First Time
I was pretty sure I felt the baby moving during week 15 . . . perhaps prior to that. But the first really definite and strong movement that was a for sure moment was during the parenting conference. I told Steven and he smiled really big.

First Ultrasound
Our ultrasound was canceled on the 10th of Feb & rescheduled for the 12th. On the 12th, it was canceled b/c of snow & rescheduled for the 17th. I couldn't wait anymore to find out if the baby was alive & doing well. I called the local OB/GYN. Closed. Thought about going to the emergency room just to settle any anxiety, but a big fat bill doesn't help anxiety either. I remembered a church bulletin my husband pointed out to me. The crisis pregnancy center was doing training w/ the nurses with ultrasounds & had asked for volunteers. I called, assuming they'd be closed, BUT they were open & eager to have me come in!!!! It was the best moment ever! I think husband feels the same way!

Announced Pregnancy to Family
We met my parents in Summerville SC for breakfast. We were waiting by their car & gave them Al the alligator, which my father loved!!! His face lit up, and I could tell he wanted Al right away. They followed us to Cracker Barrel. While we walked in I explained that we had a little something for them for x-mas. After we ordered I gave them each a little box & told them they had to open it at the same time. The box had an unfertilized quail egg in a nest with the words "Crack Me" on the inside of the box. Once they cracked it they had little scrolled up pieces of paper that said, "A little bird told us you're going to be a grandfather/grandmother Sept 13, 2014". My mom read it first & tried to hold it in until my father read his. They were so excited! My mom cried, and my dad just smiled. He was telling everyone (waitress, cash register) the exciting news. It was great! We videod them opening the box & cracking the egg. A great response!

Went on Babymoon
Went to Charleston with my parents. Steven had never seen Charleston. we stopped at a chocolattaire. got chocolate milk. We walked through the slave's market and all the way to battery park. My dad spent a lot of time w/ Steven giving him advise about being a dad. It was good he got so much attention. Steven doesn't get that type of attention from his father. We got a huge pizza for dinner & I splurged w/ a Sprite. Was craving Dr. Pepper sooooo bad. We stopped for some pralines. Lentil couldn't get enough of them. My father actually referred to the baby as Lentil. It was cute.

Bought Baby's First Outfit
Went to Target to see if any baby things were on sale. It was our first shopping experience for baby Lentil. There were so many cute little outfits, and we wished we knew if Lentil was a boy or a girl so we could get more. My favorite was a little dinosaur and a lizard outfit . . . both green. I can't wait to see the little one in those things. Also a really cute white cotton outfit for the middle of winter and a darling little fuzzy coat that will probably only fit Lentil for a day (only size was 0-3 months). Also got some swaddling blankets and looked around at all car seats. It made the experience more real to Steven.
