We went in for a scheduled c section. It was amazing. I even got to hold him right away and he didn't waste any time nursing. I just love him! Emerson Daniel Finney, born 12/26/14 at 2:01pm. 8 lbs 0 oz, 20 in long.

Picked a Name
We were inspired by a guitar pedal Daddy bought and decided when we were antique shopping in Allen and found a brass bladed fan with the name on it.

Prental Tests: Glucose Challenge Test
Drank the red sugar juice and an hour later this baby was bouncing off the walls so much you'd think he was throwing a party in there!

Husband/Partner Felt Baby Move for the First Time
We were laying in bed and you could see a lump move across my belly at the top. Jon put his hand there and could feel him bouncing around in there. He thought it must be a weird feeling! He took a video of my belly bouncing.

Found Out Baby's Gender
My husband and I decided that he would find out at the appt and I wouldn't. So, he knew for a couple hours before I did. We wanted to do something fun and memorable to tell our other boys what the gender of the new baby would be so I covered my eyes and they each got a can of unmarked silly string and on the count of 3 sprayed me. It was fun because I didn't know yet either! It's a boy!!! On August 7, 2014 at 19 weeks 1 day pregnant
Announced Baby's Gender to Family

Bought Baby's First Outfit
Found a cute going home outfit. A fox onesie and sleeper with a fox hat. So cute! Didn't know what the baby was yet, so I decided that if it ended up being a girl, I would just add a pink bow.On June 12, 2014 at 11 weeks 1 day pregnant
Felt My Baby Move for the First Time
I swear I keep feeling little taps in there and every now and then that fluttering feeling. I love it!!

First Ultrasound

First Prenatal Appointment
I met with an RN to go over medical history and get blood work. The nurse was using a Doppler to find the baby's heartbeat and was having trouble finding it. After another nurse tried to find the heartbeat they decided to send me to the ultrasound room. I was so nervous, I texted my husband to pray. When they were able to take me back, as soon as the tech put the wand on there I would see a baby!! Yay! So relieved! She saw the little heart beating 170 bpm and the baby was kicking it's arms and legs in there.

Heard Baby's Heartbeat for the First Time
Well, I think. I was having apprehension so I pulled out the fetal Doppler and decided to see if I could locate anything. After praying for peace and trying for 10 mins I was about to give up. I gave it one last try and heard a little freight train chugging and between 165 - 180 BPM. I cried and was so elated to hear that beautiful sound.

Started Wearing Maternity Clothes
My pants were so tight around the waist, the rubber band trick wasn't even working! I called my sister in law and she graciously loaded me up with two huge bins of maternity clothes. Oh sweet relief to wear pants that fit. I feel like it's kinda early, but I guess the 3rd time around my body just gave in early. Oh well.

A prayer answered, a need met!
In a tizzy I found out that our health insurance covered zero of any prenatal care or delivery charges. Feeling devastated facing a potential $20,000 medical bill, we shared the news with our married small group at church. Everyone prayed for God's provision and guidance for us. The very next morning, my husband got a call from his boss saying our situation had been on his mind all night and that we wanted to provide insurance for us that covered everything!! We were so thankful and blown away by God's grace. So amazing and so wonderful is our God!!

Announced Pregnancy to Family
My Mom and I were shopping before Mother's Day. I told her that I got her a gift and she said you shouldn't have and I said well, it's not an actual gift. How would you like to be a grandma again? She was super excited! Then My husband told his parents and siblings. He called his Mom at work and asked if she had any books on being a grandparent to 4 grandchildren. I thought that was cute! My sister in law called me to say her Aunt (who had a dream we were having a baby boy with the last one before) called her and told her we were pregnant again. Little did I know that my husband had already told his sister.

Took a pregnancy test
I had a hunch when I gagged on the scent of pot roast. I couldn't wait any longer so I bought a pregnancy test and took it that afternoon. I was nervous, but was prepared and at peace for either result. Sure enough, it was positive! I was surprised and excited. I waited for my husband to come home and while he was working on an amp project that evening, I placed the test on his pile of tools and walked out of the room, waiting for his reaction in the next room. A minute later..."Ummm, Dani --what is this?", he was shocked and excited just like me!
