My Milestones & Events

On January 26, 2012 at 39 weeks 5 days pregnant
Scheduled Induction
I had been in early labor for 2 weeks when the doctor finally decided that it wasn't healthy to just wait anymore and scheduled our induction for 1/27/12. They want to start pitocin at 4 am and break my water at 7. We will see where things go from there. :)

On January 10, 2012 at 38 weeks 3 days pregnant
Began early labor
Technically I started early labor on January 10 but in 4 days, have not dilated past 2 cm. Very frustrating but at least I know my baby is coming!

On January 5, 2012 at 37 weeks 5 days pregnant
Installed Car Seat
Since my mom is taking care of my brother's newborn and my husband and I are temporarily staying with her, the carseat has technically been installed since the day she was born lol we have another one for once we need them both in the car at the same time but at least there is 1 in there for now.

Prental Tests: Group B Strep Test (GBS)
Passes the group b strep test with no problems at all :) woohoo! 1 step closer!

Baby Dropped
Lyla STARTED dropping on 12/5 but who knows how long it will take her to settle lol

Baby Shower
It was a WONDERFUL baby shower :) Everything was fairy themed for my little girl and ended up getting almost everything I still needed for her

Husband/Partner Felt Baby Move for the First Time
It took FOREVER but my husband FINALLY felt our baby move the day before Thanksgiving! I was starting to think he was never going to feel her kick.

3D/4D Ultrasound
Our baby girl is beautiful and ahead of schedule :) It was amazing to see her and know that is close to what she will look like when she is born.

Packed for the Hospital/Birth Center
The women in my family wanted to do something unique for my baby shower so they asked for a list of everything that I was going to put in my hospital bag and are each contributing towards it so that it will be packed and ready to go (minus a few personal items) by the day of my baby shower just in case I need it early. :)

Prental Tests: Glucose Challenge Test
I was told several times that it would taste AWFUL but when it finally came time to drink the glucose drink thingy, it really wasn't bad. It tasted more like flat, sugary orange soda than anything else. :)

Planned 3D/4D Ultrasound
My mom actually planned the ultrasound partially as a gift and partially to make herself and most of my family happy since they will all be there to see the baby. It is at a place that allows up to 40 people to view the ultrasound on a screen in a viewing room so EVERYONE will be there lol

Saw Baby Move For The First Time
I was just sitting on the couch eating lunch and started to feel the usual kicks that I feel when I'm eating. This time I looked down in time to see it! I just watched my stomach move a few times before she settled down to go back to sleep. It was awesome!

Husband Saw Baby Move For The First Time
It figures... she won't let him FEEL her but he could sit there and stare while she kicked around, no problem!

Took Breastfeeding Class
I decided as soon as I found out I was pregnant that I wanted to do the best things I can for my baby which meant getting into healthy habits now and planning to breastfeed if at all possible.

Bought Baby's First Outfit
We had several outfits from previous pregnancies that unfortunately didn't work out but the first outfit bought specifically for this baby was from my mom and the picture is of her holding it up. :)

Started Wearing Maternity Clothes
Technically I'm not wearing "maternity" clothes yet but I can't wear the majority of my old ones so I've gone up a size and started wearing stretchy shorts and dresses instead of fighting with jeans. I guess I'm considering that my start into maternity clothes :)

Announced Baby's Gender to Family

Picked a Name
We had a few names picked out for quite awhile since we have had so many pregnancies so as soon as we knew the gender, we knew the name.

Our baby girl is going to be Lyla Rose Myers :)

Felt My Baby Move for the First Time
I started feeling slight movement about 3 weeks before the first definite undeniable movement but ever since I felt that, I've noticed it every day since.

Heard Baby's Heartbeat for the First Time
My doctor scheduled the next ultrasound for 8 weeks to check on progress and lo and behold, baby's still doing wonderful! We were able to hear the heartbeat at this ultrasound. A strong 171! We couldn't be happier about it. :)

First Prenatal Appointment
The day after going to the hospital, we had our first doctor's appointment. Everything seemed completely normal for the first time ever!

On June 6, 2011 at 6 weeks 4 days pregnant
First Ultrasound
Due to bleeding in early pregnancy and a history of pregnancy loss, I had an ultrasound just before 6 weeks and this baby (unlike all the rest) had a heartbeat!

First Positive Pregnancy Test
My first positive test was actually about 3 days before the picture was taken... I wasn't sure that I actually saw a positive the first time so I took another test, it came up much darker and I told the entire world lol.
